Oracle Aleria Strategy

By: Humpy

This boss fight is made up of two phases and can be very easy. This boss is not a DPS check but more of a fight that you have to pay attention, but the boss does still have an enrage timer.

Phase 1

During phase 1 there are 2 adds along side the boss who need to be split up. One of these bosses who we will be marking as number 1 who is on the right of the boss is boss best suited for melee. this boss will be pulled over to the hedge to the right of the boss. The other add is one best suited for ranged due to this boss does AOE attacks.

The best tank for the ranged add is a rogue but can be done by a warrior who can use charge to there advantage to staying away from the add. The other add that is best for melee has no tank preference. Just keep in mind the add marked 2 needs to be kited to reduce the damage the tank on that add takes during phase 1.

These adds should be killed at around the same time due to when one dies the other will enrage. So due to that if the raid is short on melee some ranged might be assigned to help on the melee add to split up the DPS.

During this time the boss will start casting a debuff on random players of the raid called Nerotic Energy. The person who gets this debuff needs to line of sight around the hedges all shown in the diagram below.

Also during this phase there will be yellowish whisps that spawn at all four corners of the room and will start floating quickly over to the melee add who will be marked as 1. The 2 closest whisps that spawn the melee warriors will be assigned to take them out as quickly as possible. As for the whisps that spawn on other side of the room a couple ranged will be assigned to kill them before they reach the add number 1.

These whisps once they reach the number 1 add will start casting a stacking buff onto the add. If number 1 gains to many stacks then this can result in a raid wipe so whisps must be killed as quickly as possible.

Here is a diagram to help understand placements and information about phase 1.

Phase 2

During phase 2 Oracle Aleria will be tanked in the middle of the room, although can be tanked over by the hedge to make it quicker for the melee to LOS behind the hedge if they get the nerotic debuff. But is better to be tanked in the middle due to the whisps

The whisps will continue to spawn during phase too and will head to the boss like they did in phase 1 with the add marked 1. They will start casing the same buff onto the boss and will need to be taken out as quickly as possible. If Oracle Aleria gains to many stacks this can end in a raid wipe. Thought if she takes on to many stacks it can still be countered with cooldowns to stay alive.

Necrotic energy will still be casted on random people during this phase and will need to be line of sighted from the group to keep the raid from having a raid wipe.

Here is a Diagram for Phase 2 that has information and placements for phase 2 during the fight.

This fight is much easier then Infiltrator Johlen and if you are able to get Johlen down then once you get the mechancis down on Oracle Aleria you should have no problems.
