Twas The Night Before Winter's Day...

By: Smitty

Your friendly neighborhood Smitty Claus here with a Christmas/Winter's day poem!

Twas the night before Winter's Day,
And all through the border,
Not a Dolyak was stirring,
Everything was in order.

The stockings were hung,
By the Champ Lord with care,
In hope that Toymaker Tixx,
Soon would be there.

The Rallians were nestled,
All snug in their beds,
While visions of Ascendeds,
Danced in their head.

Queen Jenna in her kercheif,
And I in my cap,
Has just settled our brains,
For a long Winter's Day nap.

When out by the tower,
There arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my post,
To see what was the matter.

Away down to Garri,
I flew with a flash,
Opened up Ccoms,
To call for help in a dash.

The moon on the armor,
On the patrol down below,
Gave a luster of "Celestial",
A dye we all know.

When what to my wondering eyes would appear,
But malfunctioning dolls,
And toys that cast fear.

With a little Asuran,
So lively and quick,
I knew in an instant,
It was Toymaker Tixx.

More rapid than Harpies,
Their courses they came,
He whistled and shouted,
And cursed them by name.

"And a this, and a that,
and a tweak to the torque nodule.
One of my assembly golems glitched,
And activated its sleep module!"

"The erroneous behavior of the dolls mystify me!
See how they're chasing the plush griffons from their aerie?"

And then in a twinkling,
I heard on the roof,
The cladding and smashing,
Of toys that go poof.

As I drew in my head,
And was turning around,
In through the northwest gate,
He came with a bound.

He was dressed in his armor,
From his ears to his foot,
And his tools hung around him,
His clothes covered in soot.

A bundled up Golem,
He had flung on his back,
And he powered it up,
With a new power pack.

His eyes how they twinkled,
His long ears so merry.
His fingers were nimble,
To work he was ready.

He was stubby and spindly,
A right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him,
In spite of myself.

A blink of his eyes,
And a shake of his head,
Soon let me know,
I had something to dread.

He spoke lots of words,
And went straight to his work.
Tossed toys into stockings,
Like some kind of jerk.

After directing the toys,
In where to go,
After giving a nod,
Of to the next border he goes.

He sprang to his Golem,
On his toys looked with scorn,
And away they all flew,
Like the blow of a Warhorn.

But I heard him exclaim,
On his face was a smirk,
“Happy Winter's Day to all...
Now get back to work!"
