Careful with mailing and gold transfers

Just an FYI - I've seen in the official forums that a number of people have been suspended for transferring gold between characters or to friends, etc. (for example to buy a horse), and now it looks like a number of guild leaders have been suspended for sending out large numbers of mail (individually mailing each guild member regarding guild business). They're getting caught up in automated processes to screen for gold sellers and spammers, apparently, and it seems as though the suspension/ban process is automated as well (or close to it).

So if you're sending out a lot of mail, or transferring a lot of gold to friends or even between alts, be careful of this until they get it ironed out.

Thanks for the heads up. It won't be a problem for me, but i kinda wish it was, because that would indicate i have a lot of cash (which i don't, hehe)

I wonder if this affects sending crafting materials too, because I send A LOT of mails to my partner with provisioning goodies... (around 25 to 30 mails a day)

Yes, thanks for this heads up, I for one will not be mailing anything for now.

Also I heard of a couple people banned for going afk inside a dungeon, is that true? and if so, what is the reasoning behind that>?

The AFK in a dungeon is an old botters trick that we've seen in many games. The bots aim to soak up xp and (depending on the system of loot distribution) possibly items simply by exploiting the grouping and proximity mechanics. The motivation for it ranges from laziness to real-world profit (characters can be rapidly levelled and then illegally sold). Many games now port players who flag as AFK out of dungeons automatically (and it's a shorter timer than the normal system AFK), but the botters use various methods to avoid being detected as AFK.

I don't know how it works in ESO but we've seen a range of different security measures appear this week (IP checks, goldseller and mail-related checks) that appear to be in the process of being fine-tuned (to put it mildly). Players are also able to initiate reports against other players ingame, and attach screenshots while doing so, so that might also be the source of specific actions such as dungeon afk bans.
