Email Subscriptions Notice

Greetings Everyone,

As you know, the Gaiscioch website sends several emails to members including Notices, Newsletters, Marketplace Updates, Password Resets, and Special Announcements. Unfortunately we've hit a snag with some email providers that prevent mail from being delivered from our server. This is unfortunate and I'm still searching for a way to fix this but as it stands right now the following providers will not allow delivery of any mail from our website.

• Hotmail.com
• msn.com
• verizon.net
• aol.com
• att.net

If you use these for your Gaiscioch account you will not be able to receive notifications including password reset notifications and our monthly newsletter. Please update with an email address not associated with one of these domains to ensure delivery. Someday I'll figure out what the hangup is but as of yet I have not found it.

Some days I love that I get all my service from a little Ma and Pa telephone company.  If I find these getting blocked, I can personally walk in and say, "Hey, you are blocking a legit thing here and I want it unblocked."  ::chuckles::

Hm, weird.  Maybe your site host/domain host is blacklisted?  I was always able to send email to my Hotmail accounts for testing, when I was using 1&1 and Siteground.  I've not tested using GoDaddy, but I don't have my website up anymore, just my domains and email parked w/them.

All blacklists come back negative. Not using a hosting company I own the rack.

I had been using a Microsoft based web mail *Hotmail* (had it from forever ago) and had no issues so far.  That said, I went ahead and swapped to my other email since I noticed the listing here vanished, as it is no big deal for me either way.

Verizon and Att I know for a fact have un-listed blacklists. Quite a few of these also required warmed up IPs for the mail to successfully hit the inbox. I'd suggest not using your own IPs for mail (oh how I hate spamhaus) and instead use a good free serve like MailChimp. I've done big email campaigns in the past and MailChimp works very well and is free for smaller lists. 

Unfortunately  we send more than 15000 emails every month. Mail chimp wouldn't be free.

Only 15,000?  ::chuckles::  I think a lot of people here were definitely not thinking that big though!

I used Hotmail to register at this site.  So far, no problems.  I received the emails on issue 5 of the Gaiscioch magazine and the Ceannard Notes.

Well unfortunately Hotmail is all I use and Verizon is my IP provider. Also, I've been receiving email notices including the latest Cennard Notes. 

OK if you use Hotmail and haven't had a problem go ahead  and use it. We used to have problems  with it. I still get  bounce back but I'll kill those addresses individually.

Oh, then the Hotmail bounce-backs might be from expired accounts.  Hotmail closes inactive accounts after 90 days.

Ditto the "Hotmail" working.
