As you may have guessed from the orange banner in the corner of the site here, Gamers Giving Back’s annual MS Toga Party for raising awareness and funds for the MS Society of Canada is here! That means it’s time to make as much noise as possible to help the cause in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis. We hold the Toga Party in hopes of raising funds and general awareness in the online gaming communities but we could do more, and with your help we can and will!

Sometimes a person will want to donate but for one reason or another they can’t yet they still want to show support and help. If you’re in a similar situation and play the games Guild Wars or Guild Wars 2, you might be unable to donate money but you can always donate items that are used as prizes and giveaways for other supporters and attendees of the Toga Party. If you have extra items just taking up space in the bank or unused goodies, any little bit can help. Especially if we get a lot of little bits so we can make a super-big bit! If you have any in-game items you’d like to donate for the Toga Party, please email thelazygeek@gw-en.com or use the contact form and we’ll get to setting up when and where to pickup any donated items.

It’s nice to donate items that’ll go to someone else who supports the same cause as you, but if you feel you want to do more, then perhaps it’s time to step it up and host the in-game event for your home server or district! Hosting the event in Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 will take a good deal more effort, obviously, but being able to run the events and activities on your home server means you’ll be helping to spread the word about the Toga Party while still volunteering your time so you get that warm, fuzzy feeling you get when you do a good thing. Hosting the event for your home server is not something to take lightly and you will need at least 8 others to help you with all the planned activities and such that’ll happen, but if you’ve got the time and friends to help you, then contact rhonda@gw-en.com or use the contact form and we will contact you as soon as possible to help you help use in setting up for another server to be hosted.

As always, we appreciate each and every volunteer who helps out with the event, but even if you can’t donate money, or donate in-game items, or volunteer to help host a district or server, just showing up to participate or telling friends and family is appreciated.
