Anyone going to be playing Wildstar?

My friend and I are trying to get a couple other people we know to try it out, but was wondering if anyone else in guild was definitely going to play.  With the realms list out I thought it would be a good time to discuss and see if we can all get together (unofficially) and have some fun.  We are currently looking into the Caretaker and Stormtalon servers.  What about you guys?

I think we don't get the guest passes until it officially launches - right now we are in headstart.  So I believe in two days we will have some.  I will try to hit you up then.  It is an amazing game.  I am having a blast.

I hadn't planned on playing this, but I finally caved.  I really like the game and too many sites are just raving over it, even MMORPG.com gives it high ratings (although I question whether they sometimes get "incentives" for "favorable" reviews... I've heard things).

Has there been any decision/word on which server most folks are congregating?  I see a few different ones listed here.

My brother and I finally caved in. I will give it a shot until Laggajack becomes more stable. We are on Caretaker server playing dominion. Anyone else out there. If there isn't enough family intrest I might hook up with OTG.

Looks like I'll go with Stormtalon: Exile and Caretaker: Dominion.  Looks like there's only one RP server and I'm not a fan of open world PVP.  I don't see some other servers that are mentioned in other threads on my list, so I assume those are EU since the game is region bound.

I am really liking the game also. I haven't been able to get on Stormtalon or Caretaker (long que times) so I have been messing around on low pop servers until things die down a bit on the others.

Cool, it's good to see some interest in this game.  I really like this game but I LOVE the devs.  They are so transparent and having entertaining livestreams twice a week for a dev team is an awesome thing to do.  It's the first time I have ever seen a dev company on any MMO give out live updates on servers and fixes from the Director of Operations himself.  So awesome.  Anyway I am an exile on Stormtalon and may make a dominion on Caretaker (as the guild I'm in with is constructing it that way).  My name is Barren on Stormtalon... btw FinalFAB it's good to be gaming alongside you again.  Do you like the battlegrounds?  If so we can for sure do that together (the matches are pooled together cross realm so we can group up on different servers and still pvp)

I'm on Thunderfoot for Exile. If/when I make Dominion it'll be on Caretaker I believe.

I've been playing on Stormtalon-Exile and Caretaker-Dominion.

I have JaeOnasi, ElinaStormseeker, and JohnnyGage as Exiles on Stormtalon.

Feel free to look for Kamia in game as exile on Stormtalon or Kappers in game as dominion on Caretaker - I created a circle for chat and hooking up for groups if need be on both those servers with those names.  Barren is in the Stormtalon one as well, either one of us can invite into the circle.  You can't invite into the circle without the other person being online but you can add an offline person for a friend request and then we can get you in the circle :)

Both my wife and I are playing it when we get the time....It is always hard in the summer months to sit around out PCs when it is so nice outside :)

I'm actually regretting not having signed up for the beta, and then I think there was an open beta (?), and I didn't do that either. I was too wrapped up in my ESO frenzy hehe

Does anyone know if there will be an offer of trial periods like some other games do?

I have also gone the Stormtalon - Exile; Caretaker - Dominion route. So far I have Quackenbush & Rawko on Stormtalon. Skeezeks & Dookey on Caretaker.

Spellslingers & Engineers respectively. Someday I might branch out.

I am in the same situation.  I sure hope they do. I always like to see how a game runs on my system before I make a purchase. So if anyone gets an extra guest pass or trial key they don't know what to do with.. ;)

LOL Pookha, that figures.  I went with Exile on Stormtalon.

BUT.............

They're just L1 characters for name saves, so I can flip sides without an issue.  Kamia found a nice GSCH type guild on there for Exile, but I'd prefer to stick with familiar Tuatha, tbh.  I'm not really up to getting involved with a whole other guild and what not.

I created a couple of Dominion characters (Dookee the Chua & Skeezeks the Draken) on Stormtalon as well so I can flip back and forth (all my characters are low-level at the moment).

I am really digging the Exile side of things. They have that worn/broken-down universe feel reminiscent of Firefly and the good original Star Wars; where as the Dominion have a Brighter Babylon 5 vibe to me, but they have Chuas!! ;)

So look me up on either side on Stormtalon!

If its anything like WoW, you are probably faction limited only on PvP servers. I don't play PvP so I wouldn't know with WildStar.

I created separate faction characters on different servers because I thought it might be a Family thing :)

No Family presence in Wildstar, just a few folks spread out.  HoL is the only Tuatha guild that appears to be playing officially.  That's good to know about the factions, I'll just roll both on Stormtalon, so I can play with HoL and maybe this other guild.

I didn't know about doing different factions on the same server as well.  I love my exiles on Stormtalon - my spellslinger is quickly becoming my main - but free transfers are going on right now so possible to move my dominion over. 

What is the name of the 'other' guild on Stormtalon? I'm interested in joining up to play with y'all on the Exile side.

Also are there any Circles setup for either side on Stormtalon? and who do I look for ingame for HoL?

Oh yea, forgot about the transfer option.  Good, I won't have to recreate, not that its a problem since I learned how to save my toon creation designs by using copy/paste (small option at bottom of creation screen gives a creation code that you can copy and paste into a notepad file to save for later).

It looks like the transfer is specific to certain server destinations.  It won't work from Caretaker to Stormtalon, at least not that I can see.  For my Caretaker toons, the only server option that I am given is to Orias.

Anyone want to get together sometime this weekend to do some (low level) grouping on Stormtalon?

ok, so looking through this thread, I see that Hol is playing on stormtalon but as Dominion.  Most everyone else seems to have started on stormtalon with exiles, and then caretaker with dominion.     So which server is everyone actually going in order to stay together to group up?

I have been looking into this, for the paste couple years, their videos are hillarious, and the idea of a bit more sci fi wow seems ok..   The cartoony stylised look is alright, but apparently the races are just for looks, as their are no benefits from picking a race really right? 

And essentially both factions have humans, just one is called humans, the other cassians?

Anyways, I am interested in trying it out, but was wondering if anyone has a spare guest pass so I could give it a go before I invest in the game.  Money is tight, and I already paid for 6 months of eso, even though I have lost a little bit of interest and havne't really played anything the past few weeks.  

As far as classes in the game go....well not really sure.  I am interested in the Engineer, the medic, and possibly the spellsinger/esper.   I am just not sure if I want to try tanking or healing in the game, but so far the engineer and medic seem to appeal to me the most.   Races not so much, was disappointed that their was new female chua's in the game.   As for path, the scientist is appealing and probably what I will roll with depending on which class I go with.

I have been cruising along with Dookee my Chua/Settler/Engineer on Stormtalon and have been having a blast (both literally and figuratively)!

I can't wait until I can buy my "hamsterball" mount :)

Thanks Gowan for the guest pass.   Gotta say this game is fun.  Still getting use to the stylized look, but really love the level up phases when I do level.   I created two characters, I have a chua/medic/scientist on the dominion named twytch, up to lvl 7 right now.

i am enjoying the exile side a little bit more, feels like the underdog story wise, and not so blood thirsty and tyrannical.  I have a human engineer/scientist named Caera, and I just got her to lvl 10.

as I said both of my toons are on storm talon for now.  Not sure how much playtime I will get in this week between school and work but I hope to get a little more playtime.

The game is a total hoot, I love the flavor and attitude of the game, its both familiar and refreshing.

well, I let my son play it today while I was at work.   All I can say is he got much higher in level trying out a drakken warrior than he did with ESO.   I think since he is 10, the stylization appeals to him, not to mention it probably feels a little bit more true to a MMO than ESO does.   

I might be getting him an account later on too.   It was one of the reasons I was losing interest in ESO cause he was not really interested in playing it.   I do like that they give you a resticted hot bar, but not as limited as eso's.   I have enjoyed the combat more too for some reason.    Granted I do hate the rails that I seem to have to follow but that is the norm with any MMO.  

I might try to hop on raidcall tonight if I can get a few hours to play.   

Its a fun game, I've always liked it a lot.  I was in the Beta, via means external to the GSCH Pioneer program, and I was telling Fog how much I really liked the game.  He was surprised and said that out of ~200-ish in the Pioneer program for Wildstar, none were playing anymore and many cited negative feedback about the game as a reason, he said those were players who's opinions he valued and trusted.

That puzzled me, because its just a fun game.  You log in, you have fun, you log out, you feel good.  It does what a game is supposed to do.  Based on post-release gaming media critiques, it seems that a lot of gamers agree.

I tried Wildstar with a guest pass and for some reason it didn't grab me. Individually all of the elements seem fine, and there was a lot to dao there, but at the end of the day when I stopped playing it, I didn't look forward to coming back like I do with other games.

Jekyl and I are playing on the Mikros server (Exile).  We did part of the beta on Stormtalon, but it got so crowded that we switched to Mikros so we could actually log on.

It would fantastic if we could see about moving to the same server.  I miss my Family when I'm playing.  *sob*

I like that this game doesn't take itself very seriously.  I think some people are put off by the sci-fi genre of the game.  And maybe some don't like the art and animation of the game either.  This is about as far away from ESO in those 2 categories as you can get lol.

But it is a fun game.  Some of the UI elements kinda get lost in the wash of all the bright colors and flashing gizmos though.  But I think that might be just me adjusting from the not nearly as bright ESO UI haha.  I do wonder if this game will be quite as fun in a month or two but I think you can say that about every MMO that first comes out.

Compared SWTOR (the other scifi mmo I played recently) this one is more polished and more fun to play that's for sure.

Playing it and loving it. Found a good Guild that have been great to play with. I'm on their Exile server (Stormtalon). Playing an Aurin Esper named Randeth so far. I have some alts created to hold names but just taking my time with one toon right now. Love the tone of the game (doesn't take itself too seriously) and the care and work the devs did in the game really show. Drop me a line if anyone from Gaiscioch starts playing Exile side on Stonetalon (the login queues there and a few other servers are pretty much gone after they did some free transfers).

Regarding the things Fogh was told before the game came out, I have no idea what those people were talking about. I've found almost nothing negative about Wildstar and when things have come up, the Devs are on it right away with lots of communication to the players. Really makes me wish it'd been Chapter 5.

One thing that will help Family play in Wildstar together are Circles (informal Guild-like groups). Did anyone create a Gaiscioch one yet? If so throw me an invite on Randeth.

I just rolled a Dominion toon (Ezsme) on Caretaker.  Please send me a friend invite nest time y'all are on.

I'm also Ezsme on Mikros and Jekyl is "Fatboilo".

So I have Dominion characters on both Stormtalon and Caretaker. I've been playing mostly on Stormtalon and waiting for an invite from HoL ;)

But if there is more of a  presence on Caretaker, I can switch over. Dookee is only level 10 so getting back up there won't be a problem, and though Skeezeks is only level 6, I've found leveling a Stalker to be super fast :)

I've been neglecting my Exile characters because playing a Chua is just too cool :) But I will be giving them some love and attention after I get my Hamster-ball :D

Edit: I can understand the feelings people had about the game early on. I wasn't too impressed with it myself in closed beta/early phases and actually ignored open beta and pre-order because of my less than stellar experiences with it early on. But now the game seems more polished, and the systems are fleshed out. It is a much more fun gaming experience than I had initially.

Although it might be a contrast to the extraordinary bland experience I had with ESO O.o

For a game that is supposed to be "WoW-like" I am enjoying much more than WoW (hated it).

Gaiscioch is a trademarked name.  Please don't use it without Fog's explicit permission.  I'll let him explain those details, because he does have a program in place to support Misc. games such as this.

edit: hm, I probably should have worded that differently.  

Gaiscioch is a brand name, Fog owns it, no one is allowed to use it, period.  Contact him for details if you're interested in trying to establish a family guild under the "Saighdear" program.  Keep in mind, though, that you can not use the words "Gaiscioch" or "Saighdear" in your guild names.

Does anyone have an extra guest pass to give out? Managed to play some in the open beta towards the end, didn't think I'd get into it given the cartoon style but the mechanics felt solid, would like to give it a further go but don't want to commit to a purchase just yet. Thanks!

I think others have mentioned it but the WoW-like comparisons mainly reference the cartoony art design and animation of the game.  I don't think there are too many similarities beyond that really.

Ive been playing since about a month or so before release.  This game is awesome.  Playing with Space Blasters a guild I have frequented a lot on the server Rothswathe.  Space Blasters is a very adult oriented guild focused on pvp.  With that in mind we do have room for like minded players to join.  Warplots are one of the guilds main focus and you need 40 people on to play them.

Housing has been a blast so far, yesty my guildie made a hot tub and a pool table out of building blocks given from the housing store, so awesome.  I already have a disco hall and bar outside my house complete with strippers, and yes we threw a party.

Questing has been a really good means for lvling and if pvp is your thing its a viable way to level until rank 40 as well.  With the side paths and awesome crafting system everything is going well and there is a lot to do.

There hasn't been a lot of random gank going on in pvp open questing zones so far but it's starting to pick up in the upper lvls.  I think before 40 people are more worried about making the push and not beating each other down.  

If your looking for a well polished release look no further this game has it all.  I haven't found it to be lacking in options for how to spend your playtime.  When I log off all I can think about is logging back on.

Again if your looking for an awesome group to hang out and are 18+, pvp oriented, and have thick skin pm me.  The guild I am in does not cater to people that don't have thick skin.  At the end of the day they are a really tight night great group to run with just a lot more adult themed than what Gas members are used to.

For those asking about circles, I did create an exile one on Stormtalon and a dominion one on Caretaker.  The hardest part is that to invite to the circle both people have to be online.  The easies way would be to add Kamia as a friend request, I'll accept and then anytime I see your on, I will add you to the circle.  On dominion, my toon is Kappers.  I love this game.  It is everything I love in an MMO and it has been a long time since I have liked a game this much.

Hey guys, I haven't logged into the site for awhile and was pleasantly surprised to see this thread still getting chatter I have 2 guest passes that I would love to give out.  Also a couple of things to point out.  As of right now you can roll both factions on the same PvP realm.  When they introduced realm transfers it was bugging out with the PvP realm ruleset and so they thought it better to get rid of that ruleset in order to have transfers up earlier.  Secondly you can also group up cross-server to do all of the instanced PvP (battlegrounds, arenas, and warplots) if you are both on the same faction and level range just /invite CharacterName@RealmName and join as group. I thought that was pretty awesome and more people should know about it.

Also while I have been having a BLAST playing this game I thought I would bring up another reason why I love this game.  The communication from dev to player is awesome.  During headstart they were doing a 3 day 8-9 hour a day livestream as a countdown to official launch with guests and such.  And while they were pretty entertaining (I have 2 monitors so I was watching while playing) they also had their Director of Operations come on to the stream every hour to update what was going on.  They continue to have livestreams twice a week and that combined with their quick and mostly detailed responses on the forums has made me a true believer that the devs are actually listening.  My rant is complete.  I hope to see you all try this game out and like it as much as I do.  Oh and I have 3 exile characters on Stormtalon (more will undoubtedly be created) Barren, Krios, and Vikus.

Just one thing to note about guest passes is that one of the AWESOME things about this game you won't be able to try out is the housing.  And it's pretty awesome (HUGE gold sink).  Have fun guys.  And don't forget to pm me for those guest passes.

Yea, Carbine is awesome, they maintain an incredible work environment down there, it reminds me of old school Microsoft or PIXAR Studios.  I really wanted to go work for them, but wasn't in a position to move to CA. from Seattle, when the jobs were available a couple of years back.
