First, what  see as a small irritation.  No one on the market place is placing orders for crafted goods. They are all requests of crafting mats. I can understand why, and am not really expecting a major change.  It is just what is.

What I am recommending, is that the guild contribution requests that ARE crafted goods, and some very high level goods at that, also give Artisan Points.  As an alternate, they could give either Artisan or Contribution points.  This would encourage crafter to make these goods and help both the guild and the individual crafters.

That is largely due to the fact crafting in gw2 Is rather self directed. All the items you need at the end game you must craft for yourself and are bind on pickup.

Im not going to change the base mechanic of the marketplace as it will change for all games. While gw2 is very self reliant, eso is not. In the future other games may not be as well.

That said artisan points are not a core requirement and do not hinder anyones progress within the family. Is a secondary metric.

Did not realize it would require a change for all games.  That explanation makes sense. thanks for responding.

What about the ability to add items you are willing to donate?

I have wondered the same thing, Lavum. While I may not be able to provide many of the items that are posted, I often find myself with items that may be of use to others.

The system as it stands now is sufficient at it's purpose.  When people need something, they come here and put in a request for it.  Adding more functionality to provide donated items would require a lot of upkeep and possibly some place to store items that wish to be donated.  That requires someone to both code that in, and then upkeep it.  Fog is already juggling more irons than he probably should, even though your suggestions might be helpful.  As an alternate way to provide the family with things they request on the marketplace, you could, by use of the game trade house, sell the items you have accumulated and purchase the items that are requested here to effectively fill the workplace orders.  It's a little more work on your part, but it makes the system currently in place work as-is if you're wishing to help players with their crafting.

No one said it wasn't sufficient in it's purpose. It is actually rather great the truth be told. The suggestion came from the fact that such systems (like the guild stores) have no real tracking, and the Marketplace is looked at more then our Guild Store. I know the ESO chapter could make it work through the guild store. The idea not only applied to the current games we are in but future ones where there isn't any way to "Offer Up" items.

When the marketplace was created it was a list the items you have and other people could claim them based system.

The first problem we had was people were not sending orders in a timely fashion. Some were not sending at all. So the person would lose fvc and never get anything for them.

We then did donations in war. This turned into 5 elders spending 20+ hours a week processing donations, managing vaults and sending orders. When we got busy in rift with 2500 people playing at the same time this became impossible to manage and we had 8 of us dividing up the month as managers and it litterally stopped our ability to play the game at all.

It was decided that if we were going to have a marketplace it needdd to be a requisition based system. Simply put a list and claim system theorectically would work but how do you manage turn around times, afk players, or lost / misdirected items? It turns into a giant headache for us. Right now we need our systems to be hands off and not require a persons involvment. The more time we maintian the less time we spend leading events and keeping this family happy. Our focus needs to be on growing the community. Not sorting through mail boxes.

That makes sense. I guess a better solution, at least for ESO is to utilize the in game Guild Store.
