The break was from GW2. I've been in ESO for quite some time. Now I'm playing both :)

I got the Heart of Thorns xpac, so in addition to my level 80 main that I already had (Sultrie), I now have a level 80 Ranger thanks to the instant level 80 token. I'm enjoying the new jungle zone. So far it has been a blast. I have to say, though, that the change they made to the end of the main story line up through level 80 (the original content) was really disappointing. I'd never done it on Sultrie, because I kept dying. So I went to try it again and now it's just a long, drawn out, risk free ride on an air ship :/

New content is great. If anyone has suggestions for what to do with my two level 80s in the new zone, I'm interested in hearing it. So far, I've been doing the zone events as they come along and trying to train glider-related abilities.

Speaking of Rangers, I've noticed when my pet is on aggressive he runs out and aggros mobs I don't want him to go after. But when he's on guard, sometimes he doesn't do anything even when I'm being attack. Is there some other way to set the pet so that he'll attack when I do, but not run off to the nearest mob after I kill my target?

Hello and welcome back! :D

I wasn't aware they changed the main GW2 vanilla story, yikes! It's been like two years since I finished it on one toon :B

About the ranger pets, there is not much you can do, they have two modes, kill everything on sight or let me be mauled by everything and do nothing. There is a way, if you don't want to pull aggro (fractals, raids, dungeons) that is play it on passive (guard?) and then Spam F1 to everything you want your pet to be attacking.

Also awesome news, I think they moved most of the HoT pets outside of the meta of the maps, so you don't depend on a successful map to get your shiny new tiger, the spikey quaggan or either of the new dragon thingies :3

If you still got questions or would like to know more, I strongly suggest you to hop in guild chat or discord, we will assist you furrther.

Again, welcome back :3

Thanks, Kitty. I appreciate the welcome back! I'm still in the process of looking for more pets. I don't have very many. I'm going to try the passive pet and F1 option, see how that works :)
