As some of you may know, mycology is one of my hobbies. In Michigan, fall is a great mushrooming season. Although I envy those of you in the northwest. For years I've been going on forays in the local woods with a group to find, identify and eat (if edible) wild mushrooms. If you are in south eastern Michigan on the Sat. mornings of 9/14, 9/21, 9/28 or 10/5. Our four locations are Highland Recreation area, Hudson Mills metro park, Stinchfield Woods (U of M Peach Mountain Observatory), and Proud Lake Recreation area. We meet at 9am, collect in the woods until 11am. Gather and identify our finds, followed by a potluck lunch. If you are interested in some hiking (rain or shine) and mushroom hunting, followed by good food, just let me know via email (khonke@wowway.com) or Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/kevin.honke) and I will get you details to meet up.
