[On PvP] Gaiscioch (Guardian) vs Gaiscioch na Nuada (Defiant) - The Skinny

Just like with any military, we spar against our own to grow more powerful as a unit. Think of it as combat training. If their Red Their Dead. Together we can grow stronger as a unit by learning from each other and growing stronger through combat.

We however WILL NOT ever be seen "Farming" each other to boost our favor or presitge. Both parties must be giving their all in the fight. Any hint of "Cross-Realming" and both parties will be removed from the family. There is no HONOR in cheating :). If someone is caught doing the kill exchange dance both parties will find the door quickly. We have put to much work into our reputation to have Cheating and Exploiting ruin our image. It is HIGHLY offensive to me that anyone would try that and I'll be the first in line to boot the offending parties out.

On a lighter note. If you find your rivalkin at a PvP Rift or Warfront kill them with honor, make sure not to spawn camp or grief them. When you knock them down help them up. We are a Family and should act accordingly. Our Forces will only be as strong as our unity. Don't fracture our Unity.

bumping for those that didn't see

I was dueling Archie (Archy's Defiant tank) a few days ago. If that is the incident then I can assure you that we were not farming each other. After 5 or so duels we went back to doing warfronts together

Well.. on D-side Zola's been running Wf's and well last week my Arrya wasn't high enough to do the 30-40.. SO .. I went on my G-side hoping to get into the same instances .. so I could KILL THEM! muahahaha <3 Didn't see them, but a Guardian in my raid started giving me all sorts of stuff .. his name was Beckette.. just so you know .. I left in tears.. vowing to stay Defiant forever and take out those G scum like Beckette .. (really he was an .. !! ) But, as soon as I logged on, Z's husband (Sethra-Wolfentstein -sp ?) .. is laughing at me and says Zola killed Bellas!! my lil G- side cleric .. !! I went from crying mode to absolute laughter with new vows of pay back seeing "I" wanted to get "THEM' .. and those ...... um sob's .. got me and I didn't even know it!! hahaha I get what you're talking about foggy .. and I remember you too talking in vent about how we make each other stronger:) I totally agree with you and there is nothing better I love then to best one o'my brothers or sisters! lol And I will DIE .. trying to KILL THEM.. in a wf .. though hug um and help um as best I can non-pvp... .. though tread lightly once you cross that line ......... I love Guardian Kabobs .. mmMMMmm <3 (well 'cept if I'm on G-side .. :P )

I rather see both sides help each other, but a fun ribbing is good. There was plenty of jovial and friendly busting on the opposing side during our joint events this past week in vent. Competition in fun, not for profit, is the way to go since this game lets us play both sides on the same server without cool down times and what not. Warhammer had to do that due to crossrealming, but so far I see this crew as the usual crazy, fun loving guys and gals they always have been. So Fog doesn't have to spank us and put us in a corner, let's keep it that way!

The wanting to help the family bit probably saved my ass last night. Was jumped by a Giascoch toon and after an initial wtf im not flaged descided the best option was retreat rather than beating on a family member that didnt really seem to be doing much damage to me. It was only after he went from red to green and ran off that i realised it was probably a curse of some sort from the raid rift near by. If had had gone with the eat mace scum reaction i probably would have had 24 people chasing me.

I remember way back on November getting into one of the lower level WF Black Gardens on one of my D toons and chasing around after this one guy who kept hitting me from range. It wasn't until I got close enough that I could read the Gaiscioch tag, so then I'm, 'wait am I allowed to kill him or not?' So I backed off and went after someone else. Well he came up behind me and got caught in one of my AoEs and died anyway lol.

I was under the impression from what I was told way back when I first joined the family in September, that we were not allowed to deliberately attack each other in Warfronts, and later (when they became part of the game) our FAMILY prearranged PvP Rift hunt nights because we had an agreement with TRION that our two sides would not do so because it might be viewed as cheating for gaining favor.

I never said that you can't engage in warfronts. This post is old. The announcement of our defiant side was even earlier. Warfronts are fair game. If its red its dead. PvP rift hunts we kindly request our other half to stay off the field. I made an agreement with Trion when we formed the defiant side that we would not "Farm" each other. To avoid accusations I ask that if the family is running a public PVP event that the other faction stays out of it. This is because of 2 main reasons. If by chance the other side rolls us and our members are present it looks to the community that we invited them out to get slaughtered by our brothers thus "Farming" kills. And 2 because when you pvp family tempers flare and lines are drawn in the sand. I don't want our events to cause this. That's not what their for. Nothing good can come out of it. I already catch enough flak for these events I don't need to pour fuel on the fire.

This might not be an issue soon if a certain faction addition is implemented in 1.8 :)

What faction addition is being implemented in 1.9? That is news to me. If it can't be said at this time, I completely understand. And with the addition of the Mercenary system to warfronts, I have come across family members a few times, though never opposite faction. Always Gaiscioch on Gaiscioch, never Gaiscioch vs Gaiscioch na Nuada. I usually get stomped by the other person, because I am horrendous at pvp. But I always do it in fun, as it's nice to try and test myself against family, even if I always lose :) But out in "world pvp", I always ignore anyone with Gaiscioch in their name.

1.9 is a pvp focused patch which has been quoted as having a focus in open world battles. They have also hinted at a 3rd optional faction or some way of pairing into 3 realms. We shall see.

This is an old post, but with the birth of Arach Dubh, I wonder if we could use the PTS server as practice grounds. Since we can copy ourselves to the PTS, maybe it would be legit to run against each other there. We wouldn't be earning favor or prestige that would matter.

Getting people to the PTS server is difficult. I've tried in the past and we managed to pull it off a couple times. I was planning on having us all transfer our defiants when we start getting ready for killing cyril to make a couple practice runs on PTS before going live.

One of the biggest reasons we don't PvP vs each other is people get heated in PvP and say things they don't mean. We don't want hateful things being said cross family. Tempers fly when you get rolled and last thing we want is to fracture our unity by going up against each other.

That's just the gaelic warrior's blood in us. LoL! "By the ancient laws of combat!" Mayhap we should have a druid class to oversee the bouts.
