and a weekend at Disney.

On Thursday going to do the AMC Marvel Marathon and watch the Marvel Films leading up to the Avengers midnight premier. Going to follow that up with 2 days of park hoping at Disney. Plan on getting a May the Fourth be with you shot in front of the Star Wars attraction at Hollywood studios on May 4th and visiting Mexico in Epcot on May 5th.Edit: oh and yes we know cinco is a US corporate celebration but we think it will be fun anyway.

AMC is having a marathon of the movies? Is it all the Marvel movies, or just the ones of the characters that compose the Avengers? And I didn't think that Thor and Captain America have been out long enough to be shown on non-PPV tv. I must do some research on this.

Anywho, hope you have lots of fun this weekend. :)

I assume Bashir means AMC theatres, not the channel. As seen here: Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Captain America, Thor, Incredible Hulk and finally The Avengers.

yep that is what I mean. All day in movie theater. Seen all of them before but my wife and sister in law were actually really excited to do this so who am I to say no?

Ah. That makes more sense. I guess Marvel wants to forget the movie "Hulk" with Eric Bana ever existed? heh.

All I know is that I never read many comic books when I was little - but I did have a huge crush on Thor (always loved them Norsemen :) ).

This coming Saturday the whole clan (about 10 of us) are going to the movies for my grandson's B-day when he turns 12. It has come to be a family tradition for him and we lucked out with The Avengers this year. He was complaining about not wanting to go to the movies for several weeks (some years the movies haven't been so great) until he heard what the movie is this year.

I have to admit - after watching the previews - I am a little excited about it myself. I have watched all the others on blu-ray so that I am up to date. Best part is getting together with the family we always have great fun - I am blessed - they are a great bunch of people.

The release of this movie brings back memories of my days in the military and having day-long debates over who was the "best" super hero =D We had alot of down time.

I attended the marathom yesterday. 14 hours in the theater, and it went surprisingly fast! Avengers was amazing, very funny, with great special effects and a fun plot. Can't wait until Iron Man 3, Thor 2 next year and Captain America 2 in 2014!

Far exceeded my entire families expectations. Was by far the most fun we've had in a movie for several years.

I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Of course, I am a marvel geek, though more a fan of the X-men and the mutants over the others. Best movie I have seen in a while. Anf I think that was the first time I have seen a movie where people were laughing in the theater at the various parts. And I will agree with Donaliam. The Hulk stole the movie. Both as Banner and "the other guy". Especially the last 30 minutes or so once the battle started really going.

After reading all the posts above, I'm guessing that many will not enjoy my thoughts on this movie. I was a little bit surprised that I didn't enjoy this... in fact, I thought it was pretty poor. I've enjoyed the other "Marvel" movies in the past for the most part.

Yes, the action was cool, but after tolerating an hour of poor script; an hour or so of flat-out action wasn't going to cut it for me. I ended up sat there waiting for New York to be destroyed enough that I could leave the cinema.

One of the main issues is that dialogue tries too hard to be witty and falls flat; then the serious conversations are just too melodramatic and overtly cliché. I was sat cringing whenever Thor or Loki were talking.

Possibly the only part of the movie I genuinely enjoyed was to finally see the oh-so crap antagonist be slung back and forth in to the floor by hulk. Mainly just so I didn't have to watch him open his mouth.

Whilst subjectively I think this movie is crap, the action is some of the best Hollywood is capable of churning out; though it's annoying that this film will probably take an undeserved place in film history over this. It's a poor unoriginal movie caked in explosions, pretty CGI and whatnot- thus this means that everyone will automatically love it...

What's worse is the sequel sneak-peak mid-point in the credits; for me it just translated to "Hollywood wants more of your money to waste on ---- like this".

I enjoyed the Movie-Marathon and greatly enjoyed the Avengers movie itself. I liked that there was "in fighting" between protagonists (and reasons to do so).

All in all it's a fantastic "super team" movie from my perspective.

Shawntor...

Hey, every movie can't be for everyone - nor every TV show. My entire family can't believe I didn't like West Wing... and I am by far and away one of the few people I know who hates George Clooney (as an actor) and as far as I am concerned he has ruined every movie he has ever been in - and several of them would have been great movies for me if it had been almost any other actor.

So... be the individual that you are - I know I am. :)

George Clooney is not an actor. He is George Clooney with different names. Or at least that is the impression I get. I don't think I have ever felt he was another character.

I'm not a huge movie person but I loved it so much, I'd pay to see it again...Funny that with all the complaining by movie producers about pirating and with the movie being online within hours of release, it STILL made more than any other movie release.

Just shows that it isn't pirating that is destroying cinema, its crappy movies. ;)
