RIFT Concerns, Management, and Direction

Greetings,

I wanted to take  a moment to address some happenings in the RIFT Saighdear and address some burning issues. I was approached today and asked to step down from the leadership position of RIFT completely.

I know that the RIFT side is feeling abandoned, as the "red headed stepchild" comment keeps getting thrown out there. Right now honesty and openness are going to be the only cards I play. I'm not going to tell you what you want to hear, and I'm not going to sugar coat it for you.

The Saighdear in RIFT was formed to allow the Gaisicoch members who continue to play RIFT a casual and fun environment that can continue playing with people they know. It is in a holding pattern waiting for Chapter 5 to launch. Once chapter 5 launches we will be rolling over all Elder support into Chapter 5 and either closing the RIFT chapter completely or turning it into a true Saighdear without website support, without marketplace, and without participation.

Gaiscioch has left RIFT, that chapter is closed. Right now we wanted to give you guys a method to continue earning participation and contribution points while we wait for another Raiding Centric game that is also social/casual friendly and pvp friendly. This was instead of closing it completely.

Now that said, please do not feel that you have to stay in Saighdear if you want a more hands on guild approach. You are all more than welcome to join other guilds that better fit your needs. This will not affect your membership or prevent you from being part of the family. We understand that the Saighdear might not fulfill your needs as a player and I don't want you to feel that you have to stay or lose your spot in the family. When and if you decide to play a game with us in the future you will continue from where you left off.

I will remain in the leadership spot in RIFT until chapter 5 launches at which time we can discuss who wants to take over and run the Saighdear their way. But until then I will remain, and those Elders that remain will help me manage it. I know this is not the answer some of you wanted but it is what it is. I welcome you to join another guild or form one if that is your wish but Saighdear is staying in my hands for the foreseeable future. I will continue to login and process promotions weekly.

I welcome those who are "OK" with the way things are run in RIFT to remain and continue participating in events together and filling work orders on the marketplace. Those who are not "OK" with  this, I encourage you to find a guild that works for your agenda. Player satisfaction is more important than the tag above your head. Go enjoy yourselves and stop tormenting yourselves by staying somewhere you aren't happy with. You will always be able to rejoin us in the future.

Speaking only for myself, I'm fine with the leadership that Leonar has been providing. To his credit, the guild has been functioning quite well since he took over.

And what's supposed to happen to all the credits I've accrued and been saving for when one of my toons hits max level?

Use them. The Marketplace is still available. Chapter 5 is not due till at least the Fall or winter of this year at the earliest.

They carry over many games. You wont be starting over. We are not a guild in a game. We are a community that plays games together. The game may change but the community remains. Everything you earn in rift comes with you to all future chapters.

I will retain a character in Saighdear (Daermoon), but since I only play 1 MMO at a time (I tried to play GW2 and Rift at the same time, but just couldn't handle GW2's play style or graphics), I will be transferring the bulk of my characters (Machiko, Ephrus, Berillion, and Shvaai) to Invictus to continue to play Rift. I will await to see what Chapter 5 brings for Gaiscioch, be it ESO or something else.

My understanding is that Invicta and Saighdear are in a formal alliance; and, that both have access to Tuatha. Events run by either guild will be open to both guilds and that participation in the event will count toward your guild's participation metrics, regardless of which guild sponsored the event. So, if my understanding is correct, in addition to scheduling events on the sponsoring guild's site, perhaps a chat msg via Tuatha asking for invites at least 20 min prior to the event time would help maintain a sense of community. Also, I recommend that everyone have their main toon in the guild that they most want to hear real-time guild chat, including impromptu group events; and an alternate in the other guild so you can keep an eye on upcoming scheduled events. Hope this makes sense and eases some of the angst we all are feeling over this situation. Stay well, Darq...

excuse me if i missed this elsewhere, but has a decision on Chapter 5 been made? and if so, what game? thanks in advance, [aka Malle in Rift, the -del Gatos toons in GW2]

I wanted to add my thoughts. I enjoy Rift and am glad we are still able to use the marketplace and have contribution. I was actually a bit surprised to see there has been some problems as I have not experienced it. I think the people running the Saighdear are doing a good job from my perspective.

Roxanol, an official choice has not been made as of yet but 1 candidate is looking very positive and that's Elder Scrolls Online. Until we get inside and know if what they claim is in fact in game and see if it's actually fun to play we wont be able to make an official declaration.

Those credits do apply to whatever game this family is involved or going to be involved with. That's the beauty of this Gaiscioch. Personally, I haven't been as involved due to technical issues. One of my auto start ups is screwing up my pc.

Speaking of the marketplace. Are there any crafters left in Rift. Things are slowing down. Even the auction house in Faeblight doesn't have the ol' feeling to it. Have an order in for a weapon. It's just sitting there in que. Nuoli
