In summary, Andy was away for family obligations. The Herald will be back at the end of the month. Realm WAR and The Herald have been down due to an attempted third party compromise.

Call me a cynic but this looks like an attempt to spin things so they sound better than they actually are. Don't talk about things until a few days before they go live? That sounds like to me that they have no long term plan for this game and are just fixxing and patching things up as they go along. How in the world was there nobody put in charge to communicate with the public when Andy took his leave of absence? That just makes them look undermanned and amateurish. Honestly, I love playing WAR but everytime Mythic opens their mouth about the game, I just get more depressed.
Part that has me worried is that they've got RIFT looking them in the face. Their forums are talking more about RIFT than war, yet the "Big Cheese" to keep the mice in game is a Healer Patch that makes the unkillable more unkillable. Is that how their going to answer our distress calls? Really?
Honestly Warhammer is on life support. It's dying I realize there are some people who still enjoy the game, but when Rift goes live Warhammer is done. If it makes it through to the end of the year it will be a miracle. Personally I think Mythic should just let it die because either way it's dying, now or later I don't think will matter. If Rift doesn't kill Warhammer I know that GW2 will.
Wish I could disagree with all the above....but I can't. The only question I really have now is go to Rift or drop back into EVE Online where I have enough money in-game to play for free....and can I get my SW to 80 before they close down WAR.
ROFL Mythic has always been about the spin. That's what you get when the lead developer is a lawyer.
Putting Rift aside, there are so big money MMO's out or coming this year. DCUO is currently expanding servers and appears to be doing pretty good initially. Then there's SWTOR coming out supposedly this year. Add in Guild Wars 2 at the end of the year and that's alot of heavy hitters each taking away subscribers from WAR. I realize that they want to be realistic as possible but that's not how they'll keep subscribers and get new people in the game. In my opinion, they should shoot for the moon and create as much excitement as possible. Promise new classes, new races, new areas, etc. Change the conversation from when will WAR die to what things are they coming out with. Like Fog said, a 'minor' patch to address small changes doesn't exactly do it for me.
