How To Disable Pvp For A Pve-only Game Experience. Also If Your Raid Leader Asks You To.

By: FairybellaFawny

[This guide is for Rift.]

Some of you never want to pvp, ever. Sometimes you only want to pvp when you feel like it. That is perfectly alright and the devs have given you the tools to make that a reality.

Sometimes the raid leader will ask you to disable your pvp auto-flag. Please do this asap as your leader has his reasons and it is for the benefit of completing objectives without interference from enemy players.

Here's how it's done.

Ingame:
Hit ESC-->Settings-->Interface-->Combat
Uncheck PvP Autoflag
Hit Apply
Next, right-click on your character portrait (next to your health bar) and check PvP: Default -> Default

Now you will not be able to accidentally hit an enemy player with an aoe, or heal anyone who is already pvp flagged, or accidentally or on purpose attack an enemy player or their pets. Also, an enemy player cannot attack you in any way, not even by using tricks like aoeing during a rift. This setting makes you immune to enemy players, and them to you. (Well, they can still talk trash, but you can put them on ignore.)

If you enter a warfront you WILL be flagged for PvP regardless of this setting. Enemy guard npcs will still attack you if you get too near them. Going near an enemy capital city will flag you for pvp also.

To re-enable the ability to pvp outside of warfronts, simply

Hit ESC-->Settings-->Interface-->Combat
Check PvP Autoflag
Hit Apply
Next, right-click on your character portrait (next to your health bar) and check PvP: Default -> Default

Now you can complete pvp objectives like fighting in pvp rifts. Now you can attack flagged enemy players, and heal flagged friendly players. You can also be flagged by enemy player aoes, so be aware in rifts.

If you want to be flagged immediately and stay flagged all the time, right-click on your character portrait (next to your health bar) and check PvP: Default -> Always On.

So be aware what your pvp auto-flag status is before going on a Gaiscioch event, and please uncheck or check the option as directed by your raid leader.
