Her First Battle

Finally after months of making her armor, Kadiskas was finally ready for the first test of it. Standing in the training arena, she glances to her father from behind her helmet, giving him a slight nod then turns back to her opponents. She had been training with these two for quite some time now and they had become friends. She crouches a bit as she raises her shield and sword. Narrowing her eyes at them she stands at the ready as her father calls out to them to start. One instantly vanishes from sight. Kadi perks up her ears and listens carefully as she still watches the other. Elbereth holds a staff and wears cloth but Kadi knows that she has put protective spells around herself. As she starts to form a plan in her head she hears a scuffle behind her. She quickly glances behind her and sees nothing but side steps to the side anyway putting where she heard the noise to her right and the mage to her left. Turning her eyes to the mage she sees the mages lips moving with slight subtle movements of her free hand...

A spirit is born

Her face red from working over the fire all day she turns back to the piece of metal that lays upon the anvil. She has strained everyday for weeks since her father told her that she could have her own armor and weaponry to make her chest piece just how she wanted it. With every pound of her hammer she pounds a bit more of herself into it trying to make it perfect in her eyes. Her eyes squint as she pounds her hammer on the corner of her breastplate to get the right curve to it so it will mesh with the rest of it. Her concentration so deep on it that she doesn't notice Xaniqos standing a bit behind her, watching. 'You pound that corner to much more Kadi and you'll be stabbing yourself with your own armor.' Kadiskas stops hammering, looking at the corner and nods then turns to the armorsmith 'I guess I am just getting anxious. My breastplate is only half way done and we have had 4 battles since I started.' She sighs heavily, looking down at her armor and frowns 'I just want to go with my father when the next one comes...

Being Prepared

Kadiskas was becoming a fine warrior. As the years went by she would train with her father, Keveras, in the training ring everyday. Some days she would beat him but mostly she would lose but she was getting better. She didn't look like the same little scrawny elf she used to be. Now, at the age of 16, she was changing into a grown elf. The boys all gave her attention but she did not think about them. She knew she could best any one of them in the dueling ring. She was making her way to the training ring to meet her father there right now, as she had been everyday for ten years. Then she saw something out of the corner of her eye, turning to look she saw an invasion of enemies riding down the hill towards the encampment. Turning and sprinting to the training ring her father looks up as she runs in. 'Father, enemies are coming towards the encampment.' Pointing in the direction she saw them coming. He looks up at her as they hear a horn blow over the encampment and says calmly 'Go to the blacksmith and wait for me there...

Becoming something more

By the age of five Kadiskas was well versed in the vigil. Her father, Keveras, worked endlessly teaching her in the ways of both the vigil and in the art of war. She was tested to see if she was able to be a healer or a caster but to no avail. She was even tried to be stealthy like the rogue but again whatever she did she failed. Her father had her tested for many things hoping that she would not fall in his footsteps as a warrior.
But as the days went by she was always found in the blacksmith area, after the tests, watching the blacksmith with such fasination that her father could no longer ignore the fact that she was in fact going to be a warrior. He decided to start her as soon as possible.
By the age of six, Kadiskas was standing across from her father in a dueling ring. He had asked her there, given her a battered wooden sword and told her to stand ready. She didn't understand but mimicked his movements. She held the sword with both hands and waited. Suddenly, as if by shot by lightning she was on the ground, looking up at the sky...

The very start

Born into an unknown world, the child had dark brown hair and light green eyes as she was finally able to look upon the world. With a small cry she was handed over to the healer for inspection for the parents would not be able to keep her if there were any bad markings or deformities. This was a time for war and a child with any of these was not allowed to live.
As soon as the child was taken from the room the mother let a bloodcurdling scream. The other healers that were left in the room tried everything they could but the mother with her last breath named her child and went to join the elders. The childs father, Keveras, was awestruck at what had just happened. With a glance to the door he hoped that his child was fit enough for what was to come.
As the hours moved on, Keveras sat and waited outside the tent that his daughter was said to be in. His head buried in his hands almost at wits end. Finally the healer came out with the child in her hands. With a smile Keveras looked up and took her...
