Cead Mile Failte!Greetings Everyone! Happy Holidays from all of us at Gaiscioch. It's that time of year again. That white stuff is about to bombard us with its assault on our driveways. Winter time typically drives players back into their homes and back online. During the months between December and March we typically see our highest populations. This means, more events, more players and more epic memories. I do ask that you all take time to spend with your families and friends. Don't forget about those out of game connections that we hold so dear. This month, I've added a new section to our newsletter that I plan to have as an ongoing "Learning" section titled, "Inside the Family". This will feature explanations of how things work and will repeat occasionally to keep new members in the know. Let's go ahead and jump head first into the news. DirectoryGet InvolvedGaiscioch Family NewsGaiscioch has become an official Twitch Team! After nearly 2 years of trying to get a Gaiscioch Team on Twitch approved, we have finally done it. With the help of our first Twitch Partner and former elder Dreamtrip, we managed to convince Twitch to give us our own team. This just shows that whatever our community puts its mind to we can accomplish with hard work, devotion, and most importantly, each other. For those budding livestreamers or anyone who wants to be a part of our Twitch Team, simply ping me in discord with your Twitch channel and I'll send an invite. Everyone who currently has their Twitch name inputed in their profile has been invited already. To accept your invite:
If you would like to check out our team and help the people involved go to: Extra Life Charity Event Wrap upThere is a certain level of pride I feel for seeing so many people work so hard to raise money for kids in need. It reminds me that there is good in this world and it is worth fighting for. This has been our 8th year participating in the Extra Life event and we have raised a total of $41,054 over our 8 year history. This year with our smallest community yet we still managed to bring in $2,282 and had a blast over the 3 days of livestreaming. Over the course of the next year, I suspect we will see a surge of new players coming into the community and a wave of returning players as well. It's my hope by next fall we can get a lot more involvement in the event and once again be off to the races for the kids. Which brings me to my next topic. The Gaiscioch Extra Life Charity Livestream Event is quite long and is a bit of a mouthful. For next years event, I plan on branding it simply as Gaiscioch #ExtraLife. I will still have all the event, livestream and extra life information on the page but I want to enable our event to be more than just extra life in the future. I want it to be able to encompass our stuffed animal drive and possibly even a springtime Child's Play event as well. By branding it on its own, we can add more diversity to the event series and possibly grow our charity involvement beyond just our fall Extra Life event. 2018 Gaiscioch Conference RecapI would like to thank everyone who was able to make it to this year's conference. I feel the new format went really well and the live polling was epic :D. I will work on incorporating that more in our future summits. For those that were unable to make it, we have the full video posted at: You won't want to miss this one as we covered a lot of good information about many of the games on the horizon. Portland, Oregon Holiday GatheringFor those of you local to the pacific northwest United States, we will be holding a Holiday gathering on December 15th at 2PM PT at Bellagios Pizza at 16265 NW Cornell Rd #101, Beaverton, OR 97006. I will have a little something for all who attend. They offer a wide range of Pizza, Salads, and Grinders with Gluten Free and Vegan options available. Come join us for some family friendly fun and laughs. Chapter Requirement ChangesAfter some evaluation of our current situation and the ever shrinking guild size requirements within games we've decided to drop the minimum guild size for chapters from 500 to 250. In addition we have revised the way we evaluate the requirements for each area based on where the current player base chooses it's focus. Each Gameplay category of our Chapter Scorecard will be worth a total of 100 Points.
Once each of these areas has been scored between 1-100, they are compared against the percentage of active players who enjoy that style of gameplay. The score will be increased for percentages above 50% and reduced for percentages below 50%. So if a game scored a 100 for Siege Warfare and the playerbase had 40% who enjoyed siege warfare it would total 90 (100 - 10%). Thus shifting the focus based around what we are actively enjoying right now rather than basing it off of what we enjoyed in the distant past. Thank You November 2018 Patreons! As always, I cannot express my gratitude enough to all of those that have supported the community through Patreon, Twitch and YouTube. Your contributions have gone a long way into allowing us to grow and provide us with tools to streamline our operation.

Our community activities are broken into two types. Chapters are our primary focus and include games with more than 250 players involved. These meet a strict criteria to match our communities theme, goals and play style preference. By playing in chapters you can earn Leadership, Fellowship, and use the Gaiscioch Marketplace to buy in game weapons, armor or crafting materials. Our current active chapters are Guild Wars 2, Elder Scrolls Online, and Warhammer Online. Adventures are small to medium sized games where we put the entire focus on social gaming. Here you will earn social points for attending events with 2 or more players. Social Points earned depend on the number of people who attended the events. Some of our more popular adventures include Fallout 76, Dungeons & Dragons, Guild Wars and Conqueror's Blade. For a full rundown of Chapters and Adventures see: Gaiscioch Family Promotions:I wanted to take a moment to say congratulations to a few members this month for accepting their next credo and stepping into a new role in our family. Guardians (Seaimpín)The Gaiscioch Family Guardians are an advanced part of the Veteran Members group and serve as the front line of our family. They help newer members learn about the family, our website, and our belief system. They occasionally will need to help get conversations back on track, or report misdoing's to the family elders. They act as advisors, guidance providers, and overall protectors of the family name. By this time a member should be involved in the family for more than 6 months and has been an active attendee in family events. For those who prefer fellowship over leadership this is the last stop on the family tree. Members must prove their leadership ability to progress to the Leadership ranks through the accumulation of both Valor Points (Earned through leading events.) as well as earning Tokens of Valor from lower ranked members of the family. » Wakawaka Veteran Members (Curadh)Veteran Members have proven their devotion to the family by participating in events and contributing to the family's success. They have been active more than 90 days and have continued to be contributing members to the family. Official Members (Lorgaire)Official Members have earned the rank of Lorgaire and have accepted the Mark of the Kindred credo. They have officially decided to become members of the family and start their journey to ascend the roles of the Gaiscioch Family. Please Welcome Our Newest MembersGaiscioch By The Numbers

Chapter 4:
Great Tyrian Adventure Kicks Off in JanuaryI've got some great news to share! We've completed the construction on the Three Legendaries we will be adding to the Raffle giveaway for the Great Tyrian Adventure. This has allowed us to green light the adventure to launch in January. I am currently hard at work preparing the site for the new season and will throw together a trailer this month. Tentatively, we're looking at starting on Thursday Jan 17th however, I need to get the preparations made so we can have a successful kickoff. But rest assured January is our target date. Fractal Console CompleteAfter months of seeing dancing holograms in our Guild Hall, our fractal runners have finally done it. They've raised the obscene number of fractal relics required to create the Fractal Console. This mysterious device allows for such craziness as making our Guild Hall low gravity. It's right next to where you port into the guild hall, so feel free to take it for a spin. New Guild Wars 2 Recruitment Video Coming SoonI am working to create each of our chapters a community highlight video to entice people to join. I may need some help filming some of the scenes as I need footage of Raiding, Dungeons, and Fractals as well as getting some setting shots with some actors. I'll be putting a special event on the calendar for filming these things. Guild Wars 2 Events at a GlanceAll Times Pacific

Historical Chapter 2:
Tier 1 Returns to Friday NightsFor the month of December we'll be roaming Tier 1 on Friday Nights at 6PM PT. If you’re looking for that WAR fix, our T1 nights are a great place to start. Anyone level 1-15 can participate and it's a great way to relearn the game, ask questions, and fight some destro. Tier 4 Standing TallWhen we started back in Warhammer, Tier 4 seemed a bit rough and it was a major breaking point for a lot of the people that rejoined the community for a romp in Warhammer. We were way undergeared and had a lot of learning to do. The keep lords would reset super easy and the fights lasted forever. Since then, most of our crew has leveled up, the keep fights have been revised and keep lords no longer reset. The game has changed and we have enjoyed a 90% win rate at this point. Our alliance is the most active alliance in RvR and there are always premades running. In addition the recent additions of the Altdorf Sewers and Warpblade Tunnels have brought a wealth of new gear and PvE activities to enjoy. I highly recommend giving WAR another try and join us on Thursdays at 6PM PT for our Tier 4 RvR Nights. Warhammer Online Events at a GlanceAll Times Pacific
Social Adventures NewsThe RundownThere's been a bit of news coming around the Adventure scene. Let's give it a rundown so you can stay in touch with the developments.
Conqueror's BladeThe wait intensifies for Conqueror's Blade. We purchased the House Founders Pack to award our house with a lot of early perks including getting our Guild Emblem into the actual game. We will be forming up House Tuatha throughout the betas and will have a massive presence (up to 130 people) at launch. We currently have a full house of 40 players signed up and until we level the guild a few times, space will be limited to 1 character per person. Once the game launches we will be looking at spawning up several additional guilds to make room for additional players and link them all through an alliance. Don't miss the kickoff of this Epic Siege Warfare game (Both PvE and PvP sieges).
