Yeah I feel like a toddler in the 12ft deep side of the pool with no floats.

First thing to identify is a class with which you will succeed.  What is your gameplay like?  Tank? Burst? Mobility? Range? Reflexes?

Welcome!  We've all been there.  There's so much to do in this game so take your time and ask lots of questions.  We have a great group of people that can help out.  Enjoy!

Yes, it is a very complex game, but I love it for that reason. I spend a lot of time with life skills and organizing all sorts of things in order to do them. There are lots of guides and info out there on the internet and the fun part is making sure you get the NA/EU stuff. I have an article in the 9th edition of the Gaiscioch Magazine starting on page 136. It doesn't have a separate web presence link for the article or I would link that. It talks of how nodes work, housing and workers, since those all interrelate.

Don't mess with Mama Bear, I might hug you too tight. =D

Alts have a purpose in BDO, even if you don't play them (although the "need" for "energy alts" is somewhat diminished due to a recent patch).  So it would be a valid idea to figure out some classes you think sound good, then try out some of the different combat mechanics.  You'll either find something that you really like, or realize that you absolutely hate the game and move on.

BDO is one huge onion.  Even it's layers have layers.  Sometimes, you'll find that it's overly complicated, but then after a while, realize that there's actually a purpose to the complication.

BDO has a strong management game that'll drive you to log in daily and direct your workers / crafting. It can be worthwhile (money wise) if you keep up with the needs of the market. Let me know if you want to know more.

Workers will only complete their current task if you log off.  They will not complete a series of tasks, only a single task that is in process when you leave game.

Same with gardens, but a little different.  Crops have a total time of growth, but it's split into several smaller time segments that run checks for various conditions.  They will complete one of those, then stop until you log the account back into the game.

TL;DR:  You have keep your account logged in, in order to run most worker and garden tasks.
