Not sure ESO is right for me

Hi all. Since I got back from vacation I had a hard time bringing myself to log back in. I did a little thinking and I am not sure this game is really what I was looking for in an mmo. I am a PvE casual player who's highest toon is V8 still after playing since 3 months after the official launch. Thinking about questing or grinding my way up to v16 at this point is just not fun and if its not fun than what is the point.

The friends I made in this game are really what kept me coming back as you are what made the game fun. Life has gotten a little busy so I don't have the time to devote to getting my character to max and honestly when I think about the process it doesn't sound enjoyable.

I may still log in from time to time and maybe after I get through this burnt out phase with eso I may come back and try again. Till then thanks to all who made this fun and I hope to catch up to you all again in this game or the next. If you need me for something don't hesitate to ask.

Much thanks

Berkanna (Thyth, Elhazu)

Aw Berkanna, sorry to hear this.  We've been having a blast in the Imperial City, mostly run with casual PvE, but it has the edge (or maybe frustration) of AvA.  Leveling has been eased, they lowered the amount of XP needed, and raised XP gains in some areas.  I have a vr 7 and a vr 1 I'll be leveling if you want someone to hang/joke/yell at/make fun of...during the leveling process.

Aye, join us for events if you like, but certainly don't feel the need to run around questing up!

If you decide not to play at all anymore, we will miss you but understand.  Hope everything else is going well!!

I think it might be the right thing to do for now, if you have not been enjoying yourself playing the game.

Sometimes, putting it aside and moving on to other things, helps rekindle the interest.

Besides, whenever you feel like jumping in, just to do a dungeon, trial, imperial city run, or map clearance, you know where to find us all:).

I'm kind of the same way, my highest level is only in its 30's, but I also gave up a few months after launch.  Ever since it went F2P, I'll occasionally log in and goof around for ~10-15m, but then I just log off.

Recently, I found out that the level cap is Vet Rank 16 and that makes me tired just thinking about even trying now, its too daunting.  IMO, they raised caps way too fast, no other game has ever kept bumping max level this quickly.

I get the same feeling about ESO, I'm very social and casual about games, I like to be able to drop the game for a bit and focus on other things, come back and keep playing. I find it difficult in ESO to keep up the pace with the game. Also I'm spending lots of hours in Guild Wars 2, WildStar and other games on Steam.

Maybe it's time for a tiny break, get all the stuff from the in-game mail, stash it in the bank, and play something else. I don't know if you have a Guild Wars 2 account, now it's free-to-play so you can give it a try and see if you like it, I found it much more casual friendly than ESO, very little solo content too!

(PS: I'm a bit back in the game, ESO I mean :3)

I took a six month or so break from ESO to play Archeage and a couple of other games and have recently returned to ESO very casually.  Was pretty discouraged by the whole Vet rank thing back when the mobs hit like a train and only made it to VR6. It's MUCH better for solo play now, and the thing that's really helped keep morale up is to participate in Bri's weekly Vet map clearance event.  I've been able to gain about one vet rank a week and am now VR9.  Will be VR10 by the end of the weekend just in time for her run next Tuesday.

Not sure what I'll do to get Craglorn done, but I'll figure something out when I get there or jump on one of my alts for awhile.  Don't know if I'll ever get to 16, but lots of folks are bringing alts up through so you don't have to fight alone.  It's made it fun again.

Hope to see you back after a break...

I don't attempt to grind it out to max level - so I'm still plodding along.  I log in and play when I have time, but I don't make the game a priority - I actually don't have any games at the moment that I just have to log into and play.  I still have fun with each of my games - just nothing that I "must" play.

In other words - it's all good.  The family will still be around :)
