Cead Mile Failte!Greetings Everyone! Welcome to the doorstep of August. Last month was a bit wild. I spent most of it with my daughter, the end of it with my wife and only had one normal week. As a creature of routine I'm looking forward to August giving me some sense of structure. August also marks the month of GmaFog's Birthday! Be sure to wish her a great one as none of this would have happened without Gma :D. Before we get started, I must apologize to everyone. The past few months have been a bit of a rollercoaster for me. My company terminated their contract with our event management company and decided to take it all on in house. This has rearranged my schedule from needing to take 3-4 days away to needing to take 7-10 days away. In addition my company has me traveling for work quite a bit now as I grow into my "Not a CTO (Chief Technology Officer), stop calling me that" role. I don't feel I'm ready to wear that tag as I'm still learning and have a long way to go before I can hold my own weight in the CTO circle. However my CEO keeps calling me that and sooner or later I've gotta accept the fact that's the direction I'm going. On top of all that, my daughter’s visit was a bit earlier than expected and then cut short requiring me to drop everything to spend every minute with her. Needless to say things like the Great Tyrian Adventure which I planned for May ended up taking a hit and got pushed back several times. The magazine has also suffered because I haven't had time to do the layout work. That too has been pushed back nearly 2 months. I wish I could say that things will smooth out but with the chaotic direction life is taking me it's uncertain. Managing 3 chapters, a magazine, a sports team, and daily livestreams on top of work and family life has proven to be a formidable foe. So I ask for your forgiveness for my recent flakiness and inability to be in game more. I'm hoping I can find my groove again and get things running more smoothly. Kinda feel like the wheels are falling off right now and I can't keep things together. I just don't want to let you guys down. So I ask you bear with me a bit longer and assure you that I'm doing everything in my power to get things stable again. DirectoryGet InvolvedGaiscioch Family NewsExtra-Life 2017It's time to start promoting the heck out of our campaign and see if we can get close to our goal. While our goal seems pretty aggressive I have faith that we'll be able to get close. The event side of this is going big this year. We're turning it into one of our major Public Community Events that we host each year bringing us up to 3. Along with the PCE inclusion comes a prize pool that is filled with games that some of our members have collected over the years. Winners from the raffle will be able to choose a game out of the prize pool. We have over 200 games up for grabs. This Year's Game Lineup includes:
If you would like to participate in the events be sure to register for a Gaiscioch Passport account at: https://extralife.gaiscioch.com/register.html To participate in the fundraiser please visit: If you would like to donate please visit: More information is available at: Gaiscioch Files for TrademarkOnly took me 16 years to finally find a need for going through with the Trademark. With the Gaiscioch.org issue that has plagued us for the past 2 years the final step to shut down the domain requires us to have a trademark. This is not a cheap process and personally I'd have never been able to afford it. Thanks to the help of some generous Gaiscioch we managed to pool our funds together to help make this happen. We've cleared all the preliminary stages and have filed the paperwork with the trademark office. Now we wait up to a year for approval and if all goes well we can close the chapter on the whole gaiscioch.org thing. It will also protect us from future clones from popping up and pretending to be us. Special Thanks to our Patreons!I wanted to take a moment to personally thank those who have helped cover the costs of keeping Gaiscioch alive. Last month we opened a Patreon to help offset some of the costs involved with keeping us online and we've had tremendous support come in from our members and a few outside parties. I'd like to recognize the following people for their commitment to our community. June 2017 Patreons:

Guild Wars 2 NewsGuild Wars 2 Expansion Announcement August 1st at 9AM PTWith the new expansion looming on the horizon, a lot of speculation and talk has been filling the channels of our discord. People are really excited about this one and on August 1st we'll finally know what's coming to Tyria. Can you guess what comes next following the "One Path Ends" chapter of the living story? Be sure to check out: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/expansion/ for all your Guild Wars 2 Expansion information! Real Life vs Great Tyrian AdventureI feel terrible for it but I've had to push our Great Tyrian Adventure back once again. My company has me scheduled for a conference in Philadelphia the week we were kicking off week 1. Bad news is this killed the 10 week window we had. Good news is that we might be able to have a North East meetup for the first time. I'm waiting until I get my itinerary from my CEO but tentatively it looks like Sept 8th at 8PM at Tir na nOg, Philadelphia, PA. Hopefully the stars align. That said, I've bumped the Great Tyrian Adventure back to October 19th and will run 10-weeks through December 21st. I'm also looking at making it a 2-Chapter 5-Part format. So hopefully this all works out and I don't have to move it anymore. We've worked really hard to get all the pieces in place. Siege Warfare comes to Great Tyrian AdventureIt's our plans that Episode 3 and 8 will take place in Edge of the Mists and WvW. We want to test the waters with this idea. As many of you know I've been playing with the idea of a full fledged WvW based Great Tyrian Adventure but am uncertain how well it will go over with the current matchup changes every few weeks. It would definitely reward those on Sanctum of Rall. I think timing would be essential to make sure the split is in the middle of the season. Or we would have to run a short season and run it during a single matchup. Personally I like the idea of rewarding those who call Sanctum of Rall home by giving them 100% access to the event. It would encourage people to transfer over and join our mercenary force. The Final Act of Living World Season 3Arriving on the shores of Tyria on July 25th, "One Path Ends" marks the conclusion of the Living World Season 3. If you remember back to the producer letter, the Expansion should follow shortly after the launch of the last part as if it was the next chapter. So we might actually see the next big expansion in 2017! How cool would that be! Regardless the last part of this story looks like we end up facing off with a God. (Thats new). Should be interesting to see where ArenaNet takes this story. Be sure to login and check this adventure out. RIFT NewsRIFT 4.2 – Celestial StormThis past month we saw the release of RIFT 4.2 which brought a new overland zone, Vostigar Peaks which is actually quite beautiful and diverse. It also brings the Normal Mode of Tartanic Depths 10-Man Raid. There are over 80 new quests, raid rifts, a new instant adventure, four primalist souls, achievements, creatures, loot, a dimension, over 20 artifact sets, updated supply crate rewards and ui, and a lot more. Be sure to check it out. Rift Adventures ContinuesWe're entering the second half of our Rift Adventures series and the next few weeks have a lot of fun in store. Here's what's in store for the next 4 weeks:
Of special note: I will need all hands on deck of a very special episode coming up that I'd like to show the strength and unity of our community while having some fun laughs.
During this event we will head to the grand stage of giant platform in the middle of the Celestial Lands. We will start off with some 1v1s (which everyone can watch) then move into some group vs group. At the end of the event I want to organize a base defense style event where each team has a King they must protect (transmuted into a large creature) the two sides will fight to keep their king alive. Points are scored for killing the opposing king. Should be an overall fun event and with a sea of Gaiscioch will be even funner. Would be really nice to have 100 out there. This will be a Guardian vs Defiant event so we will need a healthy amount of Defiants to make things a bit balanced. Social Adventures NewsNew PC Adventures to JoinThis month we had a few new Social Adventures crop up and show a bit of interest. We are on the verge of having a massive wave of new games releasing, and with the fall season creeping up we'll see a lot of turnover in Social Adventures. Some will stick some will fade. There's a lot of hit or miss when it comes to new games. In the meantime here are some you might enjoy. Lord of the Rings OnlineEver have one of those games, that's been around forever, yet you can't stop going back to it? Well a bunch of our members finally decided that we need a group of us in LOTRO and have put up an open sign welcoming all members to join in the fun. Sekkerhund is organizing things so be sure to touch base with him to get connected. Join the adventure at: https://www.gaiscioch.com/social/lord_of_the_rings_online/ Albion OnlineEver wish you could play your MMO away from your computer? Albion Online is a unique MMO that allows you to take the game with you when you go on the move. You can load it from any Android or iOS device with a 6+ inch screen. This is a isometric full loot pvp game that will have you gathering and crafting your way towards domination. There is siege warfare and dungeon exploring combined with a rather easy to use crafting system. This game has a lot of charm and a few of our members have decided to check it out. Join the adventure at: https://www.gaiscioch.com/social/albion_online/ Citadel: Forged with FireEver wish that Harry Potter invaded Skyrim? No? Seriously I'm the only one? Oh well. If there are any young warlocks out there Citadel: Forged with Fire is a Survival lite game with PvP combat, broomstick flying, plenty of exploring and fortress building. The good news is you don't have to worry about eating and drinking. You can focus on building. Join the adventure at: https://www.gaiscioch.com/social/citadel/ FortniteOn of the most fascinating features of Fortnite is its cross-save function and cross-buy function. This allows people who buy the PC version the ability to play on the PS4 as well and even use the same progression across both platforms. Unfortunately for XBOX users, the ability to cross-save isn't quite working yet as Microsoft hasn't signed off on it. We've also added Fortnite to the playlist for Extra Life 2017 so be sure to get familiar. We'll be forming up groups and setting off for some fun adventures with friends this November. Join the adventure at: https://www.gaiscioch.com/social/fortnite/ PlayStation Adventures Taking OffOur PlayStation GSCH Social Adventures community is growing in activity across the board. There are many looking to connect and play games together. Simply open up the Communities section of your PS4 interface and search for GSCH. Join the community and share your activities. We have several Adventures currently running and you can simply connect with us and go. Check out these great games to get connected. Fortnite (PS4)Ok Foghladha has finally been sold on a Survival Game. This little gem takes the best parts of Orcs Must Die and Paladins, and combines it with a persistent world with missions, base building, and social systems. It's comical, vast and full of fun and enjoyable moments. It's built by the makers of Unreal and Unreal Tournament and is a cross buy where if you buy the PC version you get the PS4 and XBOX One version with it. You can't however play cross platform (yet?). This little gem is being added to our Extra Life Lineup and will act as our kickoff title on the PC. Come have some wacky fun with us on PC or PS4. Join the adventure at: https://www.gaiscioch.com/social/fortnite/ Orcs Must Die! Unchained (PS4)Orcs Must Die! Unchained is finally here! We've waited years for its PS4 launch and boy has it changed since we first played. We've opened the "GSCH Social Adventure [GSCH]" guild and have room for about 40 more players. Feel free to request to join and have some orc slaying fun with us. Join the adventure at: https://www.gaiscioch.com/social/orcsmustdieunchained/ Neverwinter (PS4)This month we joined an Alliance which gave us access to several upgraded guild halls to go shopping. It also gave us allies that have invited us to Thursday night dragon raids and a lot of fun activities. They've also dumped a ton of loot on us. If you're playing Neverwinter on PS4 be sure to join us with us in GSCH and have some fun. Join the adventure at: https://www.gaiscioch.com/social/neverwinter/
