Work In Progress: Gaiscioch Walkthrough

You may have noticed some things in the mail system changed yesterday and before anyone freaks out i want to explain whats going on and what you can expect to see in the future.

Mail Categories:

• Personal Mail - direct person to person mails
• Announcements - sent to everyone above certain ranks
• Loot Notice - purchases from the loot vault for safe keeping.
• Event Notices - RSVP'S for uour events
• Crafting Notices - Marketplace notices
• Quest Messages - monthly quests you can complete. Last 30 days.
• TBA/Finalized - Important messages and tutorials on the Gaiscioch Site you unlock by gaining ranks, warlord ranks, and completing some website tasks.

The new system im working on will introduce new players to each system on this website over time. Some are linked to ranks, some warlord ranks, some based on missing information, others based on activites on the site. 

My hope is to create a simple way for players to learn the core systems and have a personalized experience that keeps them from falling theough the cracks.

Now what should you expect?

When i turn this thing on you may receive a few notices in your mail box that are for ranks you already passed long ago. It will be catching everyone up. Once its caught up to you you should only receive new ones you unlock.

Im hoping this system goes a long way to keeping people involved and helps slow the turnover rate of our newer members getting lost in the firehose.

These used to be on the homepage under Guild Wars 2. Now they're built into the mail system so I can put them out quicker without having to recode the homepage.

Quests are basically donation... well, I don't really know what to use as a comparison, tbh.  The ones that I've seen so far, are for mat donations to build the GW2 guild halls and for WvW blueprints/materials.

Quest:
Our forces have been fighting a treacherous war in the Heart of the Mists against foes that are far greater in numbers. While victories amass on the forefront of battle our surplus of siege weaponry has taken a huge hit. To make matters worse, a few weeks back a nefarious spy from the enemy realm destroyed much of our stockpile and now our reserves are at critical levels. Our commanders are having to purchase siege outright to continue their fight for our realm.

We ask that every able body who is willing to aid our cause to resupply our stockpile and ease the burden on our commanders. Here is a list of critical siege we require as well as instructions for how to obtain or create each siege device. Your assistance is greatly appreciated and will be rewarded upon sending completed siege to siege warden Foghladha.2506 for processing.

What's Needed:
1. Badges of Tribute
2. Resonating Slivers
3. All Siege Weapon Blueprints

How You Can Help:
1. Purchase Guild Catapult Blueprints from "Guild Commendation Trader" for 3 Guild Commendations and 12 Silver
2. Create Omega Siege Golem Blueprints by placing 10 Mithril Ore, 10 Elder Wood Logs, 3 Siege Master Guides, and 5Alpha Siege Golem Blueprints into the Mystic Forge.
3. Create Superior Trebuchet Blueprints by placing 10 Mithril Ore, 10 Elder Wood Logs, 1 Siege Master Guides, and 2Superior Trebuchet Blueprints into the Mystic Forge.
4. Create Superior Flame Ram, Ballista, or Arrow Cart Blueprints by placing 5 Mithril Ore, 5 Elder Wood Logs, 1 Siege Master Guides, and 2 Flame Ram, Ballista, or Arrow Cart Blueprints into the Mystic Forge.
5. Purchase Badges of Tribute for 30 Badges of Honor (from WvW) each from Davis the Survivor [War Materials] in the Guild Hall
6. Earn Resonating Slivers from completing Guild Missions.

Bring on the onslaught of mail I know I'll get when you turn this on. MUWHAHAHAHA!

I think this is a cool idea and here's to it working without a lot of weird bugs or questions from me due to some brain freeze or other. ;)

Will the quest delete if you don't need those materials anymore?

I can remove them yes

I have a more robust system in the works but for now this will work for quests. Want to be able to update them to them fly.

Ive got half of the tutorials written. First one ill he activating is the Game Account Information Check (@name / arenanet.id) as about 25% of people that join never get an invite because they havent provided us with their name to invite. Right this minute we have over 400 people marked as eso or gw2 that do not have that information added.
