Lengendary weapons, in a nut shell, are weapons with same maxed out stats as exotic weapons, BUT they get eithier unique sounds, particle effects, or applied effects onto the character itself,

Juggernaut (Hammer):
This hammer spills mercury like there is no tomorrow, it drops mercury, it makes you leave a trail of mercury, and lo and behold, it turns your dye collection into a new set of mercury dyes! So if you were big on dyes, well...
Your armor color also changes with your location, whether you are near water, on lava, on the snow...etc

Bolt (Sword):
You kind of turn into Thor, thunder surrounds you and unleashes with your every swing, and you make annoying sounds.

Incinerator (Dagger):
This is like some kind of laser emitting weapon, you leave flaming foodsteps in your wake, pulling it out will ignite the air surroing you, its hot.

Sunrise (Greatsword):
The sword itself represents the the colors of sunrise, the sword looks different from different angles, as if you are staring upon the sky from differnt locations, most of your skill will have this "sunrise" effect, and you have a small explosion upon drawing the weapon, lol.

Twilight (Greatsword):
This is the opposite of Sunrise, you are now holding the window that stares into the abyss, the void, space.

You have planets and clouds in your hand, the end.

Moot (Mace):
You hold the Disco ball that changes appearence slightly at dawn or dust. Bursts of swirly powder are born at the locations you strike.

Kudzu (Longbow):
As you become a disciple of mother Earth, flowers bloom upon the path you walk, and your projectiles have a spring yellow color, you are one with nature.

A purple laser gun with purple laser gun noises.

The Flameseeker Prophecies (Shield):
A new instrument deviced to block enemy fire while forcing them to read a book.

Rather shinny bow that shoots out a horse-headed arrow which then drags a rainbow on its path to where it may land.

Kraitkin (Trident):
Not enough Kraits worked on this, apparently you only get its fizzy particle effect at night.
Other than that the snakes at the tip slithers around.
