I have some questions for you all about GW2.

Ok. I started GW2 this weekend and instead of fumbling around in the dark for weeks figuring things out, I'll just ask lol.

1: Is there a account banking system where you can move items from one toon to another? Think I messed up with the armor you get when you buy the game, but that's not that big a deal I guess. More interested in knowing if I should keep drops from one toon for another.

2: The character movement seems to be quite awkward. Maybe I'm doing it wrong lol. I see others moving about and turning with ease. It takes me forever to turn and engage on the other hand. Is this just me having to get used to clunky movement or maybe I need to quickbind something differently? Is there a run at all?

That's the noob stuff for now. So used to ESO banking and combat, and used to DAoC targeting I'm really getting flustermicated. Seems to be an in between style I reckon.

Any and all help would be most appreciated.

1: Yes, in every Racial City and in Lions Arch you will find bankers which have a Shared Bank and Collections (Crafting Materials) which are shared across all characters.

2. I set my a and d key to strafe then turn with my right mouse button. Turning with mouse is much faster. Plus you have a tab targeting system and auto targeting system which helps keep you fighting enemies while using mouse to move.

1. Yes, there's a bank that's shared by all of the characters on your account. You have to go to a capital city to use it (not sure what race you started with, but for Charr it's Black Citadel, for humans it's Divinity's Reach (DR), for Asura it's Rata Sum, for Sylvari it's The Grove, and for Norn it's Hoelbrak. Once in the city, ask a guard for directions to the bank.

More info about bank tabs here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Account_vault

2. I use the mouse exclusively for movement in GW2. I've never been much of a keyboard turner, so I might not be much help here. It is a slightly different "feel" to other games, but I found that I quickly got used to it. There is a run, and also an auto-run (perfect for running off cliffs and dying violently while your attention is away from your monitor).

All of the keybinds and controls are shown here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Controls

There's also a good overlay template here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:GW2_QRC_NA_Digital.jpg

In general, this is an awesome resource for anyone starting to play the game: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_Page

Well first off R is auto run then if you hold down right mouse button so when you cam moves you move, usually all my toon movement comes from pressing one of the W,A,S,D, then controlling the cam with your mouse and use you keyboard for skills and mobility is a breeze, for me that's most comfortable

a big thing i tell any one about targeting in gw2 is TURN OFF AUTO TARGET! at first it may seem hard and uncomfortable but it will make you a better gw2 player. tab is a nice way to switch targets, but you really need to just try it all out and see what you like.

as for the drops, keep low level rares (0-65, 67+ i belive you start getting a proc salvage called ectoplasm) if you plan on making a toon that will use them you don't get enough for salvaging them, whites blues and greens just tear those up for materials, low level cloth is worth big $$$.

You also have easy access to storage, crafting, merchants, portal t LA etc. by going into PvP and WvW areas via the icons on your upper left.

Another good thing for new players to keep in mind is that you can change your key bindings to more comfortable settings, for example, I changed the bindings of my healing skill into "q", my utilities into "q", "e" and "z", my elite into "c" for speed and convenience.

Lastly it is generally more profitable to salvage or to sell at TP the green and blue equipment drops that you get for the essences of luck than to sell them to npcs.
