We’ve run a very successful Wednesday night event for Strikes the last several months, starting one hour before reset, and then repeating them after reset for maximum loot.  As I, along with lots of people in the group, fall back in a couple of weeks, this moves reset an hour earlier.

The result is that the event will start at reset, and we can’t move the event earlier due to things like work.  That said, I still plan on running an event for those full two hours, just like before.  The new schedule, effective November 4th, will be:

Reset (7pm East Coast) to Reset ~+40 – Quick set of strikes (hopefully Shiverpeaks Pass, Fraenir, Voice/Claw, and Cold War).  Our goal will still be speed on this.

Reset ~+40min to Reset +2hours – WvW on SoR. We'll be using GSCH discord for voice comms.

I’m hoping to take the same energy and willingness to learn and improve that has served our group so well in Strikes with us to WvW.  (Seriously, you might not have known it, but you have been talked about in various raid groups as an example of how to go from zero to full speed)

That said, I’ll be asking everyone to bring the same things:

1) Your A game.  If you’ve played with me on a Sunday Night in WvW, you know I do not leave anything in the tank, and I do not run from a fight.  As we learn to play with each other, expect to be fighting any and every organized guild group on the map.

2) A willingness to look at changing your characters and builds to what we need to be most successful.  Much like Strikes/Raids/Fractals, planning our group around the enemies we expect to face means we have a better shot at success.  Metabattle has a number of large scale group builds for WvW, and you can always ask me for advice.  I know that gearing a character isn’t instant for most people, but I’m hoping you’ll start the process on at least one character for this event.

To give you an idea, here are some of the WvW fights we’ve had on Sunday Nights, and that I hope to have on Wednesday as well:

What type of WvW comp do y'all run and is there a specific roll you are short on?

I normally run the squad as an open tag, so it's a little bit of potpourri, however I will never say no to another support anything.   :)

My goal normally is somewhere between 1 and 1.5 support players per 5 people, and then try and fill the rest with various dps roles.  I figure as we get started with these, we'll see who is new and where they want to end up, and from there what extra roles will need to get filled.  On Sunday nights any complex planning is out the window because my whole goal (and one that I succeed at most of the time) is to build the largest blob possible and then run people over.
