@____________@ ....omg...
can't wait for this movie been waiting so looong
A year is too long, but i have just re-read the books so that will help a little with the wait.
Half of New Zealand worked on this film, and we get the world premiere screenings. Yay!
Wow, the dwarven song gave me goosebumps. I can't wait!
"Half of New Zealand worked on this film, and we get the world premiere screenings. Yay! " Sadly in Welly would have been nice to have some thing special for Christchurch we could use the cheering up.
Has been at least a 20-year wait for me since I first read the book, and after what Peter Jackson and New Zealand did for the Lord of the Rings, I have no doubt the wait will be worth it. The final countdown is on! Also loving that Dec 14th release date and hope it will apply to Australia. The previous LotR films all released on Boxing Day down here, which proved a little awkward.
about that long for me too dargron
Woot! I can't wait. Why does it have to take so loooong~~~~~!
ROFL! I know I'm not the oldest, but feel old. I read the Hobbit for the first time THIRTY years ago! Of all the fantasy books on my shelves, The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy are probably the most beat up from reading. =)

All I get is a message "This Video is Private" Bah! I KNEW I wasn't in the cool-kid club... heh heh...
I got this trailer link to work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTSoD4BBCJc We are halfway through reading The Hobbit with the kids (they are 9 & 11). About twice a week we get book story time for about 30 minutes, and they love it. They get all excited when our frantic schedule allows time for reading before bed... heh heh... In our reading we are almost to Lake Town, so I'm glad the trailer doesn't show anything from the climax of the story :)

This preview made me cry with happiness. The Lord of the Rings series, including the Hobbit, was a deeply important part of my childhood. As a child, books were like little worlds that were so real to me. While I can still have that feeling somewhat, it isn't like when I was young. When the first film came out I was so emotional then, sitting in the theater. Yes, I did cry. I just couldn't believe how wonderful it was, that I could finally see it beyond just my own imagination. It was so phenomenally good. Better than my expectations. It is so exciting that the Hobbit is coming too! Is Peter Jackson or Guillermo Del Toro directing?
From what I can scrounge up, Peter Jackson is producing, directing, and co-writing. I heard Del Toro couldn't hold his schedule any longer, and had to move on to other projects. It is going to be a 2-part movie. The Hobbit itself certainly doesn't need to be that long, but I believe they are going to try to explain more backstory, as well as fill in what happened between The Hobbit and The Fellowship. Some of the folk from OneRing.net (a fan site) gave a good talk at DragonCon 2010... Back then, they said, "the future of movie balances on the blade of a kinfe." I am so happy to see this movie move forward :) Here are a couple links to some Hobbit sites (I think the first one is the official movie site... but I'm not completely sure). http://the-hobbit-movie.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hobbit_(2012_film) http://www.theonering.net/torwp/
"Wow, the dwarven song gave me goosebumps" Ditto! I read, and re-read The Hobbit and the LotR trilogy back in the 60s between the ages of 10-13. I believe I've read the whole lot t least a dozen times since lol. I am so looking forward to this movie!
Any movie with lots of dwarves is A+ in my book! Rar!
I am very much looking forward to this movie......
Peter Jackson took over everything and the making of the film was moved to New Zealand. He is using Weta Digital for the special effects, they are outstanding as we saw in LOTR. Moving it here gives continuity, particularly on the Hobbiton set, so you will see many similarities (as well as many differences) between the Hobbit and the other 3 films.
I am so happy it is being made here :)
