So, I was in guild chat earlier today, chatting with Tide and a couple others about Addons. I listed off a few that I use, and said I would post a picture of it here on the forums, in case anyone was curious to see what it looks like on my screen. As you will see, my screen is a bit crowded, but I like to see information, even if it isn't useful at that moment.

I circled some of the addons, and will list what they are.
#1: SL Data Text. It has many options to display, but I only use a few. They are Zone Text (above the minimap), Time (under the minimap), Framerate, Latency, Memory Usage, Currencies, Gold, Durability, and Bag Space. Also XP.#2: Stuf. Unit frame addon similar to Shadowed Unit Frames and Pitbull. I use this for my unit frame, my pet, and party unit frames.
#3: CoolLine. It's a cooldown tracker, and when an ability is used, it shows up on that as an icon, and depending on how long the cooldown is, the further right it will appear on that line.
#4: Quartz. It's a castbar and buffbar addon. The circled part shows that my target has Mark of the Wild, and how long it will last. I still need to remember how to move that portion of the addon around on the screen.
$5: X-Perl. I use it for my target and target-of-target unit frame. Why use another one for that when I have Stuf? Because X-Perl has the option to show the Elite and Rare dragon around the portrait (which I gotta re-enable that).
#6: Sorha Quest Log. A quest log addon that replaces the default quest log (which I don't care for). As you can see, it seperates the quests in your log by location, colors them by difficulty, and has the level of the quest. It also has an achievement tracker, remote quests (the notification that pops up when you come to a place and it automatically gives you a quest, or when you complete a quest out in the world and it lets you finish it there. Usually happens with some dungeon quests). Also has a Scenario tracker, which shows the objectives of scenarios, as well as what all needs to be done in a dungeon (like which bosses need to be killed, etc). Another thing I like about it is the sounds. It can play a sound when you complete an objective in the quest, and when you finish a quest. I have it set to where it plays the human female /cheer when I finish a quest (one where she says "Fantastic!"). That isn't part of the addon, so I had to go into the .lua file to change it.
#7: Reputation Bars. If you are a completionist, or an achievement junkie like me, this addon is great. It lets you keep track of multiple faction reputations at the same time. Right now I only have 5, but that's because I was working on Draenor flight, and tracking the quests and exploration achievements of the various zones. Usually the top of the addon is above my target-of-target frame and I am tracking about 20 at a time. Don't judge me. :p
#8. Vuhdo. Healing frame addon. Also used it to tank, setting up the mouseclicks to cast the taunts and such with my paladin (back when they had that aoe taunt where you cast it on a friendly player and up to 3 monsters would switch to you).
#9: Minimap Button Frame. So my minimap isn't cluttered with all the buttons from my addons.
#10: Bison. A very out of date buff icon addon. Last updated for the start of Cataclysm back in 2010. It replaces the default buff icons at the top of the screen.
#11: Bartender4. Action Bar addon that lets you tweak your action bars. I have 6 action bars, and I am a little OCD when it comes to them. Bar 1 (top) is typically my attack actions. Bar 2 (upper middle) is typically my healing spells, with some overflow attacks. Bar 3 (lower middle) is where I keep my buffs and such. Bar 4 (bottom) is my professions. Bar 5 (left) I have miscellaneous spells (typically where my warlock and hunter have their pet summoning spells). Bar 6 (right) has other miscellaneous spells (druid forms, despite having a form bar. I just find it easier to switch when I hit buttons).
Not pictured are Prat (chat addon), TidyPlates (nameplate addon, with the Blizzard Plates plugin to make it looks like the default ones), Deadly Boss Mods (for raiding and dungeons, let's you know when to move out of bad stuff), SharedMedia (very good addon in case you wish to change some fonts, like what I did. Yes, that's a comic sans font called SF Comic Script), NPC_Scan (great addon that alerts you to rare monsters, though it can get annoying at times when there are multiple ones out there at the same time) plus the NPC_Scan overlay (adds colored boxes and areas showing where the rare monsters can show up), Ackis Recipe List (absolutely wonderful addon that does what it says, gives a list for the various professions showing you all the recipes you don't have and where you can get them), Altoholic (for those altoholics that have a lot of characters, and always ask "Do I have that on another character?", and it modifies the tooltip to show which character has an item, and how many they have), Bigger Tradeskill UI (expands the crafting window to a much bigger size, showing you more of the recipes you know), FramesResized (similar to Bigger Tradeskill UI, but expands more frames), GatherMate2 (it can show where herbs, ore, archaeology sites, and treasures can spawn in the world), GuildDelta (shows what has changed in a guild since last time you logged in, such as who joined, quit, notes changed, promoted, demoted, though I haven't gotten it to work with GSCH yet), HandyNotes (and the Draenor Treasure plugins, which works rather similar to GatherMate2, but with more stuff), Identity (similar to Incognito, which lets you set up a "main" name, for when you are on an alt. Ever wonder how those people got the names in () or [] after their name? This is how), TotalRP3 (or MyRolePlay. RP addons which let you set up a backstory others can read, change your name for RP purposes, and many other things).

As you can tell, I have a large number of addons, and my screen is rather crowded. But I like my UI.

Awesome post Oreo!

Thanks for screenshot and explaining what each addon does since there are a billion different ones out there. This is great for veterans and beginners alike.

Personally, I don't use addons, that's just my style of play, but I like to see what set up others are using. It's fun how you can personalize your experience.

My favorite addon is Storyline. It replaces the standard quest text window with a window that breaks each quest up into lines of conversation. If you are looking for a way to get yourself to slow down and read quests, this is the addon for you.

Since I've started using it, I've found a lot of very funny stuff buried in quests I just clicked through before. I've appreciated this addon very much.

I had used healbot and an assortment of other addons for years.  A few months ago, in an attempt to improve my raid healing, I altered my addons and dropped healbot.  Instead I'm using Elvui, which (the way I set it up) replaces a bunch of addons.  It's a pain the first time you play a class due to all the setup, but thereafter you can just copy that layout for all your other toons that are the same class.  It's very nice.

I also have Storyline installed, but don't have it enabled. It is a good addon.

I use Curse as well. It's nice being able to just open it, click on update, and be done.

I also use Overachiever (nice for achievements in the area), Titan Panel (looks like it has a similar function to SL Data Text), and Spartan UI (I am thinking of getting rid of this one though as it takes up a decent amount of space for just a cool redesign of the UI). Oh, and I use "Hey, grats mon!". It's a fun addon that says "Hey, gratz man!" in the troll voice when you level.

Hmm. I think I need a little "Hey, grats mon!" in my life.

Just this past weekend I installed Tell Me When to help me keep track of Enrage on my Fury Warrior. After some struggling, I also got it to work for my Arcane mage to tell me when I have 4 stacks of Arcane charge. I'm liking it so far.
