Well -
First, I agree with what Bentmar stated...
Second, It does take all types to make a game successful - PvP, PvE, max levelers, slow levelers, raiders, quest hounds, and grinders simply because they all buy the game and spend time in it for their reasons. But, every game is not built for everyone and I have doubts that it ever will be - it is just so much to put into a single game especially when you start looking at character customizations, targeting systems, looting, etc. There will always be something missing that someone wants - or needs - for them to really like a game.
Third, ESO is listening to the comments and if they can make adjustments they are at least working on them - such as the increased exp gain from AvA kills - it was tweaked once and they are giving it another upgrade in the next couple of months and their changes to the Vet ranks. I was only a Vet for about a week when they did their adjustment on exp. gain from questing and mob killing in the other zones you travel to as a vet and saw a huge change to the amount of exp I was getting. And - they are still adjusting it.
Fourth - if someone wanted to ask me if ESO was worth buying - I would tell them what the game means to me, how things work - and what things I still think need work - and say "For me, the answer is 'yes', but after what I have told you - you need to decide for yourself if it sounds like a game for you."
... and Finally, I know I had thoughts about experiencing the game before the Family did. After playing it for a couple of days I had second thoughts but I stuck with it - and the longer I played it the more I liked it. At this moment it is my favorite game - it is an explorer's/quest hound's wonderland of sites, sounds, hidden treasures, secluded grottos, and stories that are as interesting as any other that I have been a part of. This, is not for every one - however, it is for me.
