I don't know if anyone else has been hit by this but posting this here just incase. When you go through the process of subscribing and after it registers the credit card (and takes out the authorisation fee), the game then states how much it will be and to hit next. At that point, a LOT of people are getting an error that there is no official response to yet.
The downside is that thread is from the 19th September to now with 54 pages. I have used two cards and tempted to try a third but each time I attempt it, it takes the fee out (temporary for up to a week).
The annoyance is using the same card on two accounts doesn't mean they both will renew. Marrra's account is now 3 months subscribed while mine has now gone inactive.
Update 1: We tried card #3 (Marrra's) and it failed as well.
Update 2: We tried calling the bank as per FC comment but no luck. They see nothing wrong at all on their end. I just hope it isn't as true as people are saying and that every attempt is 24 hours extra lock.
