Star Wars The Old Republic Preorder

Hey guys just wanted to let people know they opened up the preorder this morning for ToR. They are giving early access for people who preorder but they are limiting the amount of people able to do it so if you wanted to start early you might want to head over to the official site and order it. Thats if anyone was interested in this that is.

Is it early access to the launch product or a final beta testing? Huge difference since beta characters would be wiped on launch, and huge advantage for game firsts if its launch product early access.

150 for the CE? Wow.

Its early access to the release. You basically get to start early versus launch date. Yeah I was going to get the collectors but that price is too steep. You do get alot for it and u also get a ingame special store to buy items from that no one else does but still. I opted for the Digital deluxe version. It comes with most of the digital items the collectors does at half the price. I ordered mine already and got my code so I am set for early start. If any of you guys bought early maybe we can start a guid in early release. We need basically 5 people I think to start it.

I've always been a star wars fan, and yeah I bought the CE. I have a secret squirrel stash of every lightsaber in my man cave so the statue and book are decent additions.

@Ciarach- I don't think it will be Gaiscioch in SWToR, wouldn't be right without Fog. But if you guys decide on something keep us posted.

Just to clarify the Gaiscioch will not be forming on SWTOR, but that doesnt mean you have to leave the Family or anything if you choose play SWTOR.

Hey Toros, Briin and I just got SWTOR preorder as well as I am a huge SW geek/buff and have been looking forward to this game for a long time. We'd be interested in having guildies from here who are going to play SWTOR to make a guild as you suggest that is not formally Gaiscioch but is made up of current members under a different banner. Looks we may have a few months to work it out but keep me in the loop. Thanks, Kriggles

I may or may not play. I have a friend that has been in CB for a while now and tells me the game is fairly well polished, but seems to lack that umph that would push her to buy it. We'll see in time. I've also been informed that release will be in the mid October to the end of November time frame. Here's something else that she said...SWToR has nothing on GW2....BaWlZ!!!

I plan on moving on to GW2 and SWTOR when they come out. My self-imposed "gaming budget" is for one pay-to-play title at a time, and as long as GW2 remains a free-to-play game, I intend on sticking my nose into both games... heh heh... (actually, after all these years of fantasy titles, I'm ready to explore a Sci-Fi one for a bit)

I wouldn't touch this game with a 50 foot pole after what they did to warhammer online. I'm sure there are a lot of die hard star wars fans pumped for this, but at prices like that for CE... Well, it's my opinion and suggestion to wait and see how the game actually shapes up before blowing that much cash on something you're going to be paying monthly on as well.

You already know several beta testers Mijj. Due to my strong sense of journalistic integrity, I can't reveal their names to you. However, I can tell you that one of their names rhymes with Carak and other one has a name that strongly resembles the name Isthona. You're on your own from this point on...

I went to Comic Con today and had the opportunity to play the game for 15 minutes. Both Marisae and I played Jedi Consulars at level 1. I was skeptical about this game (especially the quest "cut scenes" and story bit), but I was fairly impressed with the game. Combat seemed to be standard MMO combat, target a mob, hit buttons, kill mob. The graphics were good. I'd say there were on par with Rift, if not better. However, I do not know what the graphics settings were set at compared to my settings (around upper mid range), so that may not be a fair comparison. What really impressed me though was the quest scenes with voice acting. Now, I only watched one, but it was good. I felt completely interested in what was going on, caring about the story, and wanting to find another one (time run up though after the cut scene). It was cool watching the NPC actually talk to me and having the opportunity to respond with different options. Overall, I thought it was a pretty good game.

I already pre-ordered my CE. Let me know if any of you plan on getting this and what server. I definitely would be interested in joining a guild with other Gaiscioch members. :-)

Well - I have to play it - I am just that much of a SW's nerd - so whether it is bad or good, I will be in the game for awhile or at least until TSW comes out. (I'm really wanting to play something other that fantasy based swords and boards) I am really torn on what side to play - I really want to be Republic, but the Imperial side seems far more interesting. Would probably be Trooper or Smuggler - or Agent or BH. I have almost totally stayed away from their forums so I have no idea what is really happening with the game - but I love SW's.

Inja and I preordered as well. Of course, we have too many games we're playing right now as it is (hence our lack of Rifting). I'm scared when this holiday season hits, and I have three new games begging for my attention at once. :)

There's so many threads on SWTOR, I don't know which to respond to. I am in the beta, and I have also preordered the game, so if nothing else, I can help you form a guild. I do not have a strong preference for Empire or Republic. I've played Republic (last build) and Empire (this build) and for the most part, the stories are all pretty good. The classes are fun (though to tell the truth, I sort of like the Empire more - on the Empire side you can be a decent guy and it's ok, but if you're a jerk in the Empire, all the NPCs make you feel really bad about yourself!). I have a few friends who will be playing but their plans are pretty much in flux now, so I'm trying to keep all my options alive. So I can't join the guild on the TOR website but I would probably be interested in joining in-game. I and several friends have purchased the Digital Deluxe version. I can't wait for December 20th. Tirant and I started a guild called Oblivion on EST fighting for light side (Republic) marked as PVP. Thirtyeightt and I are also planning to check out SW. Leaning toward sith pvp at the moment.
