Star Wars TOR guild interest

*NOTE* Gaiscioch has decided not to form a branch in SWTOR so we would not be associated with it. I would also like to say that I hope I do not offend any of the leadership posting this in the forums about forming a guild not associated with the main branch. if so I apoligize in advance.


I know it wont be Gaiscioch but that doesn't mean we cannot stick together . I would like to keep the same attitude and mentality we have here in swtor.


Since it seems we have a few people that ordered the game and are planning to play it. Bioware has done something neat with the game in terms of guilds and release. They have put a guild forming abilty on there website. This system also gives a webpage and forums. I gather by the jist of looking it over. But needless to say it will auto create the guild ,assign a server based on balance and population, and when you log into game for the first time with your intial char it will auto send guild invite . which you can accept or decline. it only allows one registration though so alts have to be done later. To qualify for it we have to have at least 4 members at prelaunch. I think we have that .

So my next question is what side are you guys leaning towards. It really does not matter to me I like smugglers and bounty hunters so I am flexible. The last thing i wanted to discuss was seeing your ideas for a name. Post your suggestions here along with what faction you are more interested in playing. Once we have everyone who is going to play post there remarks we will vote on the name . I will go by majority for faction unless you guys want to take a vote on that also.

Once we get the name set we can go to the offical Star Wars TOR site and form the guild and people can register towards it so at prerelease we will be set and launch we would be also. If your not planning to get game for prerelease that is fine also you can still sign up and will get invite on launch day. Ah Fog! I was gonna tell ya the same! Baby girl us growing up so fast, shes 6 months already. Starting to identify and use words now. The doc says she is in the 95+ percentile for advancement so I spend all my time with her. I do miss all you guys and gals! We have an opportunity to sign her up for a special program to continue her development, but I hear good and bad things about it. I'm just really enjoying being a dad and trying hard to stay out of trouble and my old habits. As long as I have your attention, a quick question. If this Star Wars game turns out to be an undeniable success would you ever reconsider bringing Gaiscioch to a galaxy far, far away? If the RvR produced by the Mythic stragglers can live up to the hype, and the pvp pve balance proves to be a winning combination, would you give it a chance? The reason I ask is I had every inclination to go it alone through SWToR, and run heavy with the Gaiscioch in GW2. But lets face it, everything is better when the family is involved. Either way, I have never left, I'm just doing whats right!

I'd be interested - and I'm not sure if I care what side we play on. There are several classes from each side that I would probably enjoy playing. As far as name - House Aes Sídhe. It sounds Star Warsy - but is Irish :) But - hey - I am not that picky. Depending on how things go with the actual game depends on how long I will stay there. I'm really waiting on TSW.

Marisae and I are leaning towards Republic. As far as guild name goes here's an idea: Star Wars Gaiscioch (or SWG for short, this is obviously a joke)

I vote SWG for the name! :) I've preordered the CE and I'm debating whether to preorder a regular box or wait until launch. I plan to play with my wife, but if the game turns out to be a bust I'd rather be out $150 than $200. I will probably have both Republic and Empire characters - my personal preference is to play Republic but my brother and other friends will be Empire. On that vein, it's entirely possible that I won't be a part of whatever Gaiscioch-related sister guild ends up forming. My brother likes to run a guild (and it's usually a pretty raid & PvP centric guild) so that's my most likely option.

So, did anyone else hear Fog's lack of faith in EA during the Vent Party and start questioning TOR? I've enjoyed Rift, but I find myself losing interest. I think I'm just not enjoying the endgame for various reasons. I've always enjoyed RPG's for their story and so I'm really hoping SWTOR can put that back in.

We are a few who will not touch TOR only based on who is running it, but that should not keep anyone else from what they want to do.

Based on my interactions with other members, most who have already dismissed ToR have done so because of EA. Not because of anything with ToR specifically, but because of what EA did to WAR (Booie summed it up pretty well). I'm in the same boat as Trinak - I haven't logged in for weeks because Rift has turned into a grind-fest for me. I don't want that - I want to play a game for fun and social interaction. The social side of Rift was cut off for me by the end-game content. Everybody I know does raids, and most raid leaders don't take kindly (justifiably so) to lurkers in Vent making conversation with people in the raid.

Well, I honestly expect companies to learn from their mistakes - if I didn't go into a new game with an open mind there isn't any game coming out in the near future that I could play. They have all made mistakes - some not so bad - some horrendous. I am really interested in TSW by Funcom - who let me and others down with AOC although it wasn't a terrible game by any means. But I am so intrigued by the genre - I have to try it. The same is true with SWTOR - I love the SW's universe - so I have to try it. I look for so much more in a game than the mechanics - I want a universe whether it is ours of ancient, modern, or future times; set in a galaxy far far away; pocketed into a realm of myth and magic on a world created by warped minds which are mythical in their own right; or in a post apocolypitcal world where where zombies are as big a threat as giant mutated rats and spiders. A game can keep me involved if the world is interesting and I feel like "being" in it as much as fighting the foes presented for me to destroy or elude. The SW's universe is such a place for me - now whether EA will supply what I need is something I am willing to risk the price of the game on - and that's what each of us have to decide.

Count me among the folks staying away from SWTOR because of the team/company making it. Of course, I hope they prove me wrong, but I'm don't have the faith to plunk down a bunch of money on a preorder. (Man, they are expensive!) Mythgarr, you exactly sum up my feelings about Rift. The grind-to-fun ratio is waaaaay too high. My sub will lapse right around Pax time; I'll way and see if anything grabs me there.

Unfortunately I will no longer play RIFT when SWTOR goes live. I am SUPER excited for SWTOR!

PLaying SWOTR andf Rift for raiding. Dont mind which faction, playing it casually for the levelling and fun because Rift will stay as my main raiding game until GW2 comes out.

Ah Toros I see you have multiple posts on this topic. Well once again I must post and say that I'm definitely interested! My enjoyment of Rift, and any MMO in the past has been mostly based on the quality of guild. Thankfully Gaiscioch has some great peeps so I want to be sure to continue playing with you all when TOR is released.
