Star Wars Guild name and other information

Hello all. After reading the initial post about interest I took some time and came up with a few things.

1. The name I came up with is ( Draighean Shochai ) which is scottish gaeilic for blackthorn society.

2. Empire would be our faction.

3. Roleplaying server

4. I will be purchasing a vent server soon. Intially I am going to only get a 35 person vent server. If we grow beyond that Ill upgrade it. I will let you know when its up and running.(this depends on name acceptance)

5. I want to schedule a meeting where we can decide on guild policies and other aspects like recruitment. I want as much imput as possible. A guild designed by a majority is a much happier place then a guild designed by a minority. I cannot do this alone so I will be asking for as much help as people are willing to give.

6. I want to try and finalize as much as can during that meeting so I can upload the basics to the webpage incase we have some outside recruits.

If everything I have discussed above is acceptable to everyone I would like you to post below that you agree/disagree and what days and times would be good for you to attend the meeting I discussed above. Those that disagree please post briefly what part/parts you do not agree with and any suggestions you have. If everyone agrees with what I have here I will order the vent server and set the guild up on swtor site. Thankyou everyone.

When does swtor launch? I won't be playing, just curious because I know we will see a temporary outflow of players.

A few of us playing SW will not be rolling on an RP server and will probably go PVE or PVP on a PST time server. Faction not yet decided. Toros - if you end up not going RP let me know and we will certainly join up with you guys and help out with organisation etc :) We are more interested in PVP and raiding so an RP server really is not where we wanna be :) (I did not see any mention of people wanting an RP server in the discussion thread so am not sure if people have expressed a preference either way).

I'd prefer a RP sever personally as I am looking for PvE and raiding. Everyone has their opinion, that is just my personal preference. They always have warfronts for PvP if I ever want to do that and RP servers seem to both be pretty full on numbers of people in them and have a larger selection of mature/older players than other servers from what I've noticed over the years. Anyhow, thanks for setting all this up Toros. Briin and I are very excited to start our time being in the Empire here soon. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

I'm definitely interested in helping you put this all together Toros. I already pre-ordered my CE copy of TOR and definitely want to play on an RP server. Anyway please feel free to message me in game or through the forums when you want to start really setting things up. Also what exactly made you decide to choose that guild name? Have you thought about a name that has its roots in the Star Wars mythology? Either way I think the Scottish Gaelic name sounds cool for sure. :-)

Marisae and I are leaning more towards the Republic side, but starting empire is fine too. I kind of agree with Vort. The guild name sounds cool, but I think a more Star Wars name would be nice. Either way though we're interested. I also prefer RP servers as it has been my experience that they generally have a better community.

The reason I picked Blackthorn Society is that it actually exsisted in the old republic. I could change it to Blackthorn society and leave the scottish gaelic off but I thought it sounded more like a sith society using the gaelic form. As you read the information on that site you will notice that it is linked to the darkside as in Darth Trayus. I could make it completely accurate and drop the society and add enterprise which on of the spellings is rùdas. Which would leave us with Draighean Rùdas. I just figured I would alter it alittle to society.

I think the name has a great SW's-y sound. That's the great thing about the language - it can fit many universes :) I also join RP servers whenever possible as I agree with Kriggles - and I absolutely hate seeing names in the game that are variations of "IKillnoobs".

Wait, I'm confused. The article says it was founded in 95 BBY. Wouldn't that place it only 95 years before the battle of Yavin? I must be missing something.

For those looking for a Republic guild, a group of my long term friends and co-WoW raiders and guildies are setting up an RP US West Republic guild called Night Watch. http://www.swtor.com/guilds/95069/night-watch If you post an app and I know you from RIFT, make sure and include your RIFT name and that you are from Gaiscioch and/or Tuatha.
