SWTOR Sith guild Draighean Shochai is ready

Hiya all. first I would like to thank Fog for all the good wishes and allowing me to spam the Tavern with information about a game the guild does not plan on making a branch in. I will be playing gw2 also so I hope to see you all there.

I just wanted to let those members who I have not been in email contact with know that the sith guild is ready to accept new members :). If you are interested in playing SWTOR and want to take a walk on the evil side you are more then welcome to join us. Toros - is it definitely RP? Just wanted to check before apping, please reply here :) On the guild site it says PVE in one part and "light roleplaying" in another. I just wanted to check if it is a PVE or an RP server.

I think our plan is to join a PVE-RP server (don't know the server structure in SWTOR, assuming it will be similar to other MMO's with PVE, PVP, and RP versions of both).

The way they it looks on the page I can see how it can be confusing . Its basically the same set up as Rift. Its a RP-PVE server.

Anyone NOT into RP servers let me know, as a group of us will be rolling in swtor. We have not decided on PVE or PVP yet, just definitely not RP :)

I just want to let people know that the main reason I chose RP server over others is the maturity level. I have played many MMO's over the years and always seen a more respectful community on that type of server. So while yes we are going to be on a RP server. I will never enforce roleplaying. I enjoy it sometimes but I am not into it 24/7. So do not let the fact that we are on a RP server discourage you from giving us a try.

@Toros I understand what you mean, it was just frustrating to a lot of us that it was never up for discussion, but was a mandatory decision. I prefer a guild where members have their say and everything is talked about before decisions are made :) We are going pve because we feel there will be greater focus on raiding and progression, where players will be more used to/skilled in that area. Hey Mijjah, sorry for the misunderstanding. Being as the Gaiscioch has always been located on aPvE/RP server we all just kind of figured it would be more of a familiar environment to any of our allies who may have a change of heart or just want to try it out. By all means I believe Toros will run this new venture with all of the values and principles of the Gaiscioch. Which unfortunately also means at times he will make decisions, like Fog, that will be for the greater good even if they are not of the popular consensus. That being said, please either start a thread or post here containing your guilds info for the people who want to avoid the RP server. (Server type, Faction, prime playing time, expectations, etc)

I thnk it is the "we just figured" part (most of us were not included in the "we") - the original thread was for discussion I thought, but then the decision was made...I dont remember there being discussion or a vent meeting about it...or a vote as to the server type....I had asked questions and no reply was posted. We are just 15 or so ppl who dislike RP, and would have rolled with a Gaiscioch related guild if there was one on a PVE or PVP server. We will just go with a raiding guild on a random server. (Fog is the only leader who would get me within a million miles of an RP server :P) Good luck with the new venture :)

Mijjah I totally see your point. I think Toros should add a disclaimer to the top line that reads something about this is not a Gaiscioch sponsored event. We will not have access to the resources Fog provides, nor the leadership, Warlords, or any form of Gaiscioch advancement. He's been extremely patient with us this far, every time I post here I feel the pang of guilt. So it would probably be best if we carried the ideals he set forth of play when you want, how you want, etc. So maybe the best road here is keep it as separate from Gaiscioch as possible; treat it almost like a stand alone event. By this I mean make it known there is no one guild for Gaiscioch. If someone wants to start a 3rd guild on a PvP ruleset, cool. In the end we should use this opportunity as a recruiting phase for the impending Guild Wars 2. It would be really great if we could open a separate forums to continue these discussions that any and all family members who will experiment with swtor can look to without being forced to not play the way they prefer. Open it up to every guild/player of Gaiscioch origin as well as any new blood. Can we do this? Maybe leave a link somewhere that does not interfere with the majority of Gaiscioch not playing.

Don't do anything like that on my account. I needed to make a point, and it was made and I really don't mind now. I am more worried about being red zone!! Hope I can log on day one.... Also we are still going to be raiding in Rift so SWOTOR is a secondary game. No worries, good luck.

I know personally I will be using SWTOR as a primary MMO and rejoining the guild officially as Kriggles in Guild Wars 2. Having no monthly fee makes playing both of them at the same time feasible. Thanks again Toros for getting the ball rolling. Go team Empire!

I'm a sucker for new games. Plus I've been waiting for this one since it was announced. I've been told by friends that it isn't that great (they're currently testing), but like movies and critics, I tend to like the movies that the critics don't. I've put in an application with an old guild community in hopes of getting into beta (they have about 50-70 members signed up now for the guild beta invite).

@ Padh - we are Red Zone so I don't think we are going to be allowed in the Beta. Worst game launch ever, with the restrictions on player numbers, staggered head start and not allowing Aus, NZ and Latin America access to buy the game. /cry! I am going to get someone in the US to buy me a digital copy but we still are not 100% that it will work. I am just waiting for more info regarding IP blocking etc....such a shame for us,...QQ.

Mijjah - it is a shame you are Red Zoned - you are a wonderful person to game with so I hope you make it in. That being said, I always play on a RP server and I have decided - after much soul searching - to join the Republic. The only way I would join the Sith is as BH and probably break a lot of Sith rules doing so - and thus be a bad BH since they are paying me - lol. But I love the perceived storyline behind the Consular and want to see where it goes. Good luck to all. Safe Journ

I bought it, I cannot lie. Only because I am in love with Commander John Shepard. (Yes, it makes perfect sense to me.) Honestly, I don't have much hope for the game, though. I bought it with the intent to play it as a single-player game for the storyline, and then drop it when the gear/rep grind became apparent. That's why I drop MMO's -- "grown up" Pokemon isn't fun for me. However, if it does manage to be a good game in spite of EA, I will be looking for a Gaiscioch guild... on the Republic side. I figure there just have to be more of us Light-side folk and we'll come together eventually.

I would prefer the Republic side too, just because the Smuggler has massive swag. I suppose I could be a nerdy Agent instead though. =/ It will be more fun playing with you guys as a nerdy agent rather than alone as a super cool Smuggler. :)

I will probably be on the same server with Toros - just on opposing sides. But at least with some Gaiscioch playing Sith - I will have quality people opposing me. I'll be sure to post up what name I decide on - depends on the race I select for my JC and my alt Trooper. I just need the game to last long enough for The Secret World to launch in April - then most of my time will be in that world as Rayvyn Madigan, Demon Hunter for the Templar. If SWTOR is good and keeps my interest - then I'll keep a presence in that game, too.

I wish this was guild sponsered event. I love this guild and am highly dissappointed its not sponsered, since I know so many of us are headed that way to atleast try it out. Be alot more enjoyable to see more of teh family together. It will be fun.

Is there any way to try this game for free before buying? I won't pay for any MMO I havent had a chance to preview first.

Hoarfrost, splitting into multiple games makes it nearly impossible to control public image. It's very easy for one branch to effect the other so if our reputation isn't monitored and our culture isn't properly portrayed things can go bad for the whole family quick. Gaiscioch is not a Syndicate and in the end you'll thank me for that. Syndicate branches into every game possible, hundreds of them. However even their officers have never even met Sean. They just know he sits at the top of the food chain and keeps kicking out books about how to lead. We prefer a more controlled environment with a max of 2 games at a time. The Gaiscioch historically have been a fantasy family. DAOC, WAR, RIFT, and Eventually GW2 all fit that profile. That doesn't mean that we don't encourage those who call themselves family to bond together and go try new things together. I think it's great Toros has taken the initiative to jump out there and try to lead this ship. I'll support him in any way I can. We just can not make it an official branch without someone who knows our ways inside and out and is willing to devote their time to seeing that the family is held in the right light. Thats a whole lot of not playing, and working that is required. Believe it or not I put in anywhere from 28 to 32 hours a week in maintaining the Gaiscioch only 9 hours of that are by leading events. I occasionally get 2 hours or so to play by myself however those are usually used running lowbies through dungeons or passing out welcome gifts to newbies. That role requires a lot of a person. They pay 15$ a month to support the family. There isn't much self time, their isn't much room for self benefit. The family has to be you primary focus every day. In game and out. Personally I wouldn't wish that on Toros. I'm hoping he goes out there and enjoys this game to the fullest. Keeping his crew small and controlled would be the best way to keep his enjoyment levels up, which in turn keeps him motivated. I want all of you who are joining Toros to assist him in any way you can. This endeavor will not be easy and he will need friends & family to support him. Fog

Wish you guys the best on the server you choose. For me when i got Star Wars, I have no desire to play on a RP server and go threw the same issues I have on Rift.

I too will be playing SWTOR. Definitely on an RP server, and on the side of the Republic, although the Bounty Hunter has some appeal, any form of Sith does not. I haven't decided on a class yet... Right... I've decided on all the classes! What be my main remains to be seen. Die well evildoers!

If I get to beta this game and I like it then I will give it a try. If not then I have a feeling that I will probably be waiting until they offer trials like how they did on Rift. After I trailed this game is how I knew I was hooked. I didn't want to put money down on a possibility - I've done that far too many times in the past. FYI - I did apply for the guild.

I did the beta and while the story and voice acting was incredible, the rest of the game was very mediocre for an MMO. I would probably buy if they had an offline version I could play whenever I wanted without a sub fee. I'd say Rift is a much better MMO. I cancelled my preorder and might come back to Rift again... that or I will team up with you guys in GW2 :) edit: changed my mind again... I re-ordered my pre-order that I cancelled lol... Even if it's just a glorified single player RPG, I still can't pass up a Bioware Star Wars game.

My husband and I will both be in SWTOR. I plan to keep playing Rift also and may even pick up CoH now and again or DC Online. Plus, I read you know, and watch TV and other fun things along with that crappy have to do it stuff... I'm ADD like that, so if I play for long stretches and then disappear and come back, that's why. I'm quite pleased that there will be some people who hopefully have this guild's values playing SWTOR. It will make life easier. However, I have the greatest respect for Fog's wish to maintain the integrity of the name he has built. I was floored that he gave me a bag on my brand new toon (one with lots of slots that I couldn't possibly afford), listened to me whine/babble about being flamed in RiftRP by some mean people, and then offered to let me hide behind him. I also have some idea of what it takes to run such an organized guild. Everyone should bake and send him his favorite cookies. Someone told me that the guild has a rep for "no standards." I think that's far from the truth. All the people I have met have been at worst polite, and that's how I like to roll. :D

I will be playing a Sith Assassin on a non-roleplay server. Yet to decide whether it's pve or pvp. I'm tired of PvE servers after Rift so I will probably go PvP.

I have applied for the guild as well. The application is under Faltec I believe. How will we be notified that we were accepted? Also it should automaticly place us on the same server for launch (or prelaunch for us that preorderd).

basically, what Kurtgrim said. It looks like a pretty standard MMO, nothing too fancy going on. A few new features but nothing to write home about. At the same time, it's a compelling storyline and it's Star Wars - I've tried to stay off it and finally gave in to the dark side and preordered the other day. I'll play a Sith Inquisitor (not sure on Assassin or Sorcerer - probably Sorcerer)

Hiya guys sorry for not checking this post more been busy with getting things ready and been tossing around the ideas in my head for some fun things when game launches. I will answer a few questions here that I have seen in the posts. 1: I check the guild page for swtor daily so if you have signed up for the guild you should be invited the next day. This is especially true if you mention that your from Gaiscioch. If for some reason you applied and not been invited I ask you please apply again because as of today there are no apps in the pending colum. I apoligize in advance if somehow you were missed. 2: I want to confirm to everyone that we have easily enough to be auto formed by bioware. This means everyone in the guild prior to launch will be assigned to the same server as the guild is and once they log in will be offered the guild invite. This depends on me getting into game before you because I have to activate the guild but I plan on being ingame the minute the servers go live so no worries there. 3: I have been in 2 beta weekends and I will say that its on par with any well thought out MMO. I have been in alot of MMO's recently and I will say that by far this one was the most addicting to me. If I have to narrow it down to a few points I would have to say that the voice overs for quests and the attention to detail have to be the biggest points that hooked me. It also did not hurt that the game offered quite a bit of group content at low lvl. Even though the game is highly friendly to solo play it does offer a great deal of elite content as well. Note that both times I was playing on old versions of the game because all we really were doing were stressing out the hardware. I wish I had gotten into game full time hehe /grumbles 4: I want to thank Fog for all the understanding he has had towards this. I know hes been getting alot of questions and that concerning SWTOR. I appreciate it that he has taken the time form his busy schedule to clarify a few things for everyone. Lastly I would like to say that during my short time in Gaiscioch I have met some of the best players I have had the privilege to game with. I am looking forward to seeing some of you in swtor and others in GW2 most likely.

Downloading the latest beta. Gonna try jedi so i dont burn out on sith quests

Just got told by a friend of mine that is forming his own guild for SWTOR: the server assignments for guilds go out on Monday the 12th. So we should know our server by then (please let it be PvE :D)

Our assigned server is: Lord Adraas Woot woot! Hoping that the pre-play invite for me comes Wednesday-ish so I can get ready for the weekend properly :3

Now, I have every intention of playing on the Imperial side and I'm already attached to Draighean via the website, but I could swear I saw a post a few weeks ago about a Republic guild that was being setup. If there is anyone building a Republic guild like Draighean for family members, please let me know, I would love to be apart of it, especially if it's on the same server.
