For anyone who's been interested in Secret World, but haven't been keeping up with it, they are now taking apps for beta.

Iso and I signed up already, we're on Illuminati side. Something to keep in mind, you can't play multiple sides in this, so once you pick one of the three sides, you're stuck on that side.(At least for the beta) We found this out AFTER we signed up... Ah well.
Thanks for the info. This one got my attention, I'd like to have a look at it. Also going Illuminati.
I was so gung-ho for this before they announced they are going with the microtransaction - cash shop model. Otherwise it looks amazing.

FYI... It is a standard sub for the game. They will also have a cash shop for "personal items to make you look cool" but nothing in te cash shop is suppose to give a player an edge over another player. There are a lot of clothing options and the clothing options themself don't have stats - but there are suppose to be many and some of the really cool stuff drops from bosses or as a reward for doing quests. Some are skeptical of the cash shop (with good reason based on a few other games) but others believe it will just be a way for "casual" players to look as cool as the hardcore gamers that kill all the bosses and do all the missions. I have been following the game since the forums went live in 2007 and have been a Templar from the start. The factioned based PvP along with horror based genre sold me from the beginning. As it stands now - 3 factions vieing for world domination in PvP instances and in persistant warzones (where up to 100 players can participate - the caveat to that is about 34 players per faction which isn't huge but suitable for me) and then we can all group together in the open world and join forces to fight "The Darkness". Zombies, werewolves, vanpires amid a multitude of other demons just seems like great fun. It releases in April, 2012. It will be one awesome b-day present for me.
I signed up. Even my GF who doesn't play any games likes the concept so she might even play.
