Definitely agree with seeing Galway! And the Brazen Head. What a great pub with some of the best music! St. James Brewery is excellent and the beer is never better than when you get it at the source. If y are a beer fan, I would also recommend a train ride to Kilkenny with a stay at a nice B&B for the night. Any will do as there are tons there. Kilkenny is also where the St. Francis Abbey brewery is which is the home of Smithwicks. The trip there and back is absolutely beautiful as well. You can also plan the train ride out to be able to stop at Waterford Crystal and, if you're a whiskey person, the Middleton distillery. If you don't have the chance to get out of Dublin on that scale I would also recommend the original Jameson distillery. They don't actually make it there anymore but give a great tour and share a ton of Irish whiskey making history and sprinkle in American whiskey and Scottish Scotch making history as well. On a non-alcohol related note, I would also visit St. Patricks Cathedral which, if I remember correctly, is not that far away from St. James Gate (Guiness Brewery). Alright, I'll stop before I write a full novel here. If you have any particular interests (history, landscapes, etc.) add another post with them and I can narrow down (as I'm sure several others here can as well) a few more great things to see. I'm excited for you! Ireland is a wonderful place. My family has thick Irish roots and have visited many times over the years. The country has had a rough several years recently, as so many have, but in more ways than not it has shown the true character of the Irish and just how great they are!
