Guild Wars & The Hall Of Monuments

Hey Guys,
Been playing Rift and until the PvP gets turned on I'm going to spare my time. PvE burnout hits me a lot sooner than most and I really don't want to burn out on Rift before it's even live. Therefor I will be spending my extra time in Guild Wars 1 trying to get my Halls of Monuments in order while I wait for PvP to make it's appearance in Rift. If anyone would like to join me they are more than welcome. We do have a guild setup and it might be a bit fun to blow through some campaigns with a few of you guys and maybe even do the Gaiscioch's first guild battle in Guild Wars (Never had enough of us at one time).

This however will not alter my schedule with Warhammer Events. We will still be running them on the normal schedule. Just wanted to welcome anyone who still has that old game to join me on my quest to unlock the Halls of Monuments which will travel into Guild Wars 2 when it launches.

I've been passing the time with console games, just beat Blade Kitten (Part1) with 100% completion. Working on Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World next. I didn't get into the Forsaken World beta so I'll be playing rift before I ever play that. I would love to buy Eye of north and roll with ya, unfortunately with Christmas just around the corner I don't have the funds. Hate bein an adult, gotta buy EVERYONE gifts :/

Hey Ben I might check it out with ya. I'm lookin forward to GW2 so I figure I should learn a bit from GW1. As you know my time is more limiteder than before, the old lady's done workin until the baby comes to claim the last of my sanity and sleep.

Just like Fireguard, I'm also passing time playing other games. Finished Fallout: NV twice today and I'm planning to get Red Dead Redemption tomorrow ($30 @ Amazon). Planning to get Eye of the North too ($9 also from Amazon). Though I'm still trying to see how low Steam will go with their prices. So I won't be able to join you in Guild Wars until late January, at closest.

I might have to join you guys as well. I went ahead and bought all the GW1 stuff but as soon as I did, I found myself just swamped with looking for a job so I haven't played much. What nights do you tend to do GW1 things? I would love to get a least one of the first pets from the Hall of Monuments rewards.

Anyone is welcome to join us. Unlocking the Hall of Monuments stuff takes some work...ha, big surprise. But you can get a few unlocks fairly easily. My main goal is just to unlock enough to get a free armor set and one pet come GW2. Anything after that is gravy. Ben and Don normally do GW1 every other night after 9 or 10pm. I'm playing it a ton atm with my character Vampyres Bhane. He's a W/Mo though I'm considering going W/As instead.

What exactly do I need to buy?

I'm hitting best buy tomorrow, should I buy everything guild wars?

I believe that you can buy a package that has the game and all of the expansions included. Best Buy's website shows The Guild Wars Trilogy for 39.99. That is Guild Wars, Factions and Nightfall and I believe Eye of the North is an online purchase. The hubs thinks that it is running 50% right now.

Iso and I(after having seen some of the new class skill videos) have started going to guild wars now and then to get her some of the hall goodies unlocked. We'd love to come and join you guys, could be fun running through the campaigns again. How should we go about finding you all?

To Reclis: To be able to take advantage of the Hall of Monuments, you only need two things: Guild Wars (base game) and one expansion "Eye of the North." I realize you may have already bought everything. Not to worry, I did the same thing, but I LOVE factions and I'm sure I'll like Nightfall as well. Factions has a Chinese style to it and if I have my expansions right, Nightfall has a Egyptian feel to it. Also, for a limited time, apparently "Eye of the North" is 50% off on the guild wars store webpage. Compare prices with Amazon, but it's probably cheaper straight from the source. Unless of course you can buy a package deal with ALL the expansions. Plus the winter holiday party in GW1 has started for "Wintersday."
