I constantly crash both Vent and Guild Wars when I am in both programs. I cannot find a pattern to the crashes, other than the two programs running at the same time is the link. I can play Guild Wars while on my Mumble server without any issues, but as soon as Vent enters the picture I am guaranteed to crash both the game and Vent as well.
Has anyone else had these issues and found a solution, besides just not using Vent at all? I would appreciate any help. :)
Do you have a logitech g15 keyboard? If so, unplug it and try another keyboard.
This was causing freezes and such for me for nearly every game and ventrilo, save WoW and Rift.
I was getting freezes and then sometimes crashes, so it might not be related at all, but its worth a shot. Some weird stuff can cause the biggest problems.

Oddly enough I do have a G15 keyboard, but honestly I would rather give up using Vent than my keyboard. :) I can make sure that Vent does not have any of the G15 features enabled and see if that fixes things but the amount of time I spend on my keyboard due to my work is amazing and the right keyboard touch and feel matters a great deal to me. May seem silly, I am sure, but still. Thanks for the quick reply!
I can get by unplugging it then plugging it into a different usb.

Sorry to hear you are having problems, computer problems are especially irritating to me I dunno about you. Anywho I have the G19 and nothing seems to happen to my vent. I had the G15 too but I didn't have your specific problem the G19 has a similar "feel". So if you don't want to get rid all the cool things that the G15 has just buy the G19. Link to the G19 You can find it cheaper than that on technology websites. Also have you looked to see if you have the most up to date drivers? G15 Drivers I know asking that question to some people is insulting but hey sometimes I forget hehe. Good luck I hope you are able to fix your problem!
FWIW, I have the G15 and Vent (with G15 game panel LCD support enabled) and Guild Wars all running happily together. It's a pretty common setup. I doubt that's your issue.
I didn't find the answer to my g15 problem until Zavrin found a similar issue with others using a g15 and ventrilo and it turned out it branched into everything and was making my gaming life hell. I had already updated drivers, etc, etc.
But in this particular case, it very well could have nothing to do with it, since it seems to be a very specific two items causing it. Have you tried running any other games? I know I ran Rift fine, but everything else would freeze for a chunk of time. Minecraft wouldn't even get past the launcher.

Wildflower, although you and I already talked about this, I do have the same problem as you and I haven't figured out what's causing it yet. But I'll let you know if I figure it out.
