So I have not seen this posted on our site and thought ti would be a good read to those who will be playing as our plant race brethern. I first saw it on guru and then went to the source. http://www.wartower.de/artikel/artikel.php?id=651

My brother and I are both rolling Sylvari and starting at head start. Are there going to be any of you other guildies in the newbie Sylvari zone at the very beginning of head start? We should get in a group.
It won't be hard to get several races in one area either if you still want to group. Last BWE they had it so the three races they did have active could go via Asura gate from their city, to Lion's Arch, then pick the Asura gate to the other races city. This will prove a great help to get people together no matter which race they are. Also, it doesn't matter if you out level an area you want to go to, sidekicking keeps you at the level of whatever area you happen to be in at the time. I'm definitely going to have Briseadh as a Norn Guardian. Then I'm an altaholic, so there will be others for sure. =)
I've got to learn my way around Lion's Arch better. I kept getting lost trying to get back and forth from Lion's Arch to WvW.
There's no doubt in my mind that I'll be starting as a Sylvari. Everything I've read about them seems to be really cool.
I know I should just stick to one but it's so hard! I'll likely be switching between my Sylvari Ranger and Norn Guardian.
I will probably end up with 2 sylvari heheh I plan on having 7 or 8 characters after release with at least one of each race :) My primary will probably be sylvari though
Looking forward to trying the Sylvari, and the Asura, too. Initially those 2 races appealed to me a lot. My SO, Avalonne, initially was NOT keen on the Norn. But, having played Norn in the BWE (the others being unavailable yet), she's very much liked Norn. So... we'll see. Options are usually a good thing. I know we can buy more character slots with gems. Is there a limit how many you can have max?
I am probably going to make one of each race but most likely going to start with a support / pet build ranger. I am not completely sure what race he will be. According to a couple polls, the most common ranger will be Sylvari and the least common will be Asura.
I've been looking forward to the Sylvari and Asura too. I sure hope they are available in the next BWE. I'm pretty interesting in both, but character creation is the acid test for me... and whether I enjoy looking at them enough to play them for a long time.
So far I really like the charr character models, animations and starting area. Armor looks only so-so on them. But the real downside is that they are so huge. I feel like a Kill Me First! billboard in PvP, hehe.

While I know I won't have this game at head start/launch, I plan on making a sylvari of some kind in this next BWE (got a beta key from Curse) to try them out. Doubt I would touch the asura, as they are not aesthetically pleasing to my eyes. If/when I get this game, I will probably stick between the Norn and Charr, and possibly Sylvari once I get a chance to play them. The thought of playing a plant person seems intriguing.
I am rolling both Sylvari and Asura this beta, so I can get a feel for both areas and see what CC has to offer.
My starting toon will be a Sylvari necromancer named Dahlia (keeping with the plant theme with the name). I also plan to RP with this toon so I have been absorbing as much info that I can on this race.
For anyone who hasn't seen it here is the dev presentation on the Sylvari. *WARNING* SPOILER ALERT! http://gw2tube.com/en/gamespots-slyvari-preview/
