I saw Amazon was selling the the guide book at a lower price. At the time of this email $16.24 + $3.99 shipping.
Most MMOs give some sort of item with the guide books.

Unless you're very new to mmo's, I would probably recommend against buying a game guide that was made before the game came out. It's a VERY rare thing for a prerelease game guide to actually cover anything other than what is common sense and/or pretty easy to learn. A lot more player made guides will come out within 2 to 3 months that are FAR better than any commercially made guide. Especially with a game as big as GW2. That and a good chunk of content in the guide may be out of date come release or even 6 months after release. But like I said earlier, if you're brand new or just haven't had a chance to play any of the betas or stress tests, getting a guide can be a good idea. And good find as far as price Barbossa.
I agree with Vampiresbane, I did it way back when EQ2 came out and it was basically obsolete soon after launch. I decided not to buy guides for games unless they are console games. It was a complete waste of money. :/
While it will probably grow obsolete quickly... the main reason I would buy this would be if it comes with an unlockable mini-pet or has nice maps that I can mark up without having to print them all on my printer. I like to make notes as I play, so a guide like this can give me an organized place to put them in. I loved the Skyrim guide. If this is anywhere near as good, it could be a decent resource.
(Guildwars typically has an AMAZING wiki though)

Only good until the first patch day.
