Guild Wars 2 SUPER Crafting Node Hunt

         Hello one and all. This BWE 3 weekend I'm going to go hunting for all crafting nodes in each zone. Yes, I do realize others are going to do this and thus if possible I would like for them to respond saying which zones they plan to search for nodes in.

I plan on hunting for all nodes in higher lvl areas. This includes Kessix hills, WvW, Gendarran Fields, and many more. Mostly focusing on those three though.

I also plan on making Zone Maps showing each node in the map.

well well had the same idea guess i can send u my stuff over once i have them ready so we can a very accurate map of everything

yay. Though may i ask what software you plan on using to make your maps? I plan on using gimp 2(pretty much photoshop). but if your using something better or have prep'd node icons I'd rather forward my info to you. :)

nah would be using gimp too i was tihnking of making the icons myself when i get bit time but yeah its always bit hard for now im just planning to mark them on the map and once i have em all throw them on gimp and make some symbols for better looking got queensdale almost complete but as ive seen on ur map they spawn from time to time on the diffrent spots also the rich ore nodes dont spawn always but lets see how next bwe will be

Hmmm By looks We're going to get quite alot of maps from this expedition. I decided to use in game icon for map icons for nodes and items..... I must say... you never really realize how many icons a game has for crafting until you convert all of them to make them easier to see. I also decided for myself. to make separate maps based on Common Crafting nodes, Fine crafting nodes, and Cooking... since as I've found if you try to mash them all together the map becomes just way to messy.

Also as to different node spots. the way i understand it is.... Zones - Mineral and Plants tend to have a zone on the map that holds up to 10-15 possible nodes. Some zones have a 15% chance to spawn a rich node rather than a normal node. I plan to find Officially the spawn time of each node, as I find that they all vary. By looks finding the location of the nodes if going to be a hassle for wood nodes since they don't spawn in a zone in the map but rather along the entire map. In summary finding the location of all nodes seems like its going to take quite some time 2-3 days. if we plan on doing all possible maps. As there is roughly 2-3 maps per race. Plus 2 WvW maps, Plus Lions arch regions. I was wondering if you wanted to split the maps. for node hunting. One of use gets 2 races WvW, and the other gets 3 Races, and Lions arch. If so I'll let choose which maps you prefer to hunt in.

hmm the timing well i once stood almost an hour infront of a wood spawn and it still ddint spawn on the beginning i was thinking of queensdale but since ur already on it i can send u my stuff and ill take for exampel the char area 1-15 first since i havent been on it that much if u wanna,i head that the wvw maps dont have that much in it but lets see

I was planning on doing the human starter area (queensdale then check out the sylvari area). Want me to do a different area? We should probably communicate in game.

nah i think the first thing we should focus on is trying to power level one character as fast as possible since all of our pre-existing characters are getting deleted. Themau has voiced interest in Charr land and jerich plans to do human. so i suppose i'll do norn. although i'm making a human warrior since i know how to get to level 20 in about 2-3hrs of game play. then go node hunting.

How do you get to level 20 in 2-3 hours of game play?

You can gain your first 20 levels in gw2 very quickly if you do crafting, discover map, and rush through quest and dynamic events.

Does this sound like a reasonable plan then... 1. Do a complete clear of the following 1-15 zones in this order...: Queensdale, Caledon Forest, Metica Provice - All hearts / Vistas / Landmarkes completed. Each area explored - Note which heart vendors sell recipes, crafting tools, cheap stuff I can salvage, etc. - Note monsters that drop crafting items (fine crafting / bags / scrap) - Note crafting nodes - Note how much of each material I get just doing this... 2. Go back and farm some of the areas for a half hour or so until I have enough components to discover tier 1 recipes....Pick a time-frame and farm.... Note how many of each component I get in a half hour / hour timespan. 3. Craft 4. Repeat steps 1-3, but this time with brisban wildlands and kessex... craft tier 2 5. Repeat for gendaran if time. I am not sure how much time I will have to finish due to an aunt's 80th birthday this Saturday, I am hoping to at least be started on step 4 by end of beta weekend. Think I am biting off more than I can chew? How much is my plan colliding with what you two are doing? P.S. I can make a graphical representation of the maps and send them to you if you want afterward. I was just going to use pen and paper at first and then use flash to draw stuff. I also want to write down how much experience I get for things. If I have enough leather I may do leatherworking with two characters... one to discover every recipe and the other to get past tier one with as few components as possible.

alot of work but do able the only issue i see here is possbile drops from the mobs since we cant say for sure that they will keep like they used to be vistas shouldnt be an issue And ofc the biggest issue is still missing cloth type farms;)jute wool etc or if they would fix drops on it but lets see how the beta will be like today ,ill do char the area and gonna try to go through it as fast as i can ill try this time a engi

Yeah, I'll be paying attention to this more, especially drops that can be salvaged into useful things and where I find them and from what. I'll let others map the nodes. ::chuckles:: I just don't have the patience for that, but I have the patience to dig through other things and help with data entry for the database we'll be making for the GW2 marketplace. Anyway, the data we get this weekend will help us get some of the foundations laid to help with harvesting and crafting help, as well as, get base materials list worked out better for the marketplace with more info than wiki gives right now. ;)

ya. the person who finds out a good place to farm cloth materials(jute,wool) is gonna be loved for it lol. I've had the best luck with humanoids but to be honest i got majority of my cloth from salvaging low tier karma. which you would want to advoid since you can use karma to get survival gear from WvW land.
