There is also a way to make sure the .dat file has no issues. With GW2 you can make a shortcut to run a repair to be sure. This is how you do it.
Right click on the exe file for GW2 beta and chose create shortcut.
Rename it with the word repair in it just so you know what it is.
Right click on the short cut and chose properties.
Add -repair to the end of the path for the command to start the game. Be sure to put a space before the -repair.
You only need to use this once and it will take a few minutes to verify the .dat and then download everything it wants fixed along with the new files.
My DL at the time was 39,000+ files. I'm not sure how long it took - the repair part was around 10 minutes. I let the patching go while I went off to bed. Even with my not so speedy internet, it was definitely done by the time I woke up in the middle of the night no more than 4 hours later. ::chuckles:: I'm thinking it didn't even need half that time though.
Added note - file amounts may very a bit - I know mine was updated for that few hour stress test they had a bit ago but after BWE2. But it appears the amount of files will stay in a 39 to 46K range or so if you are doing one big update and haven't done a couple of updates for the fun of it since BWE2 or the last stress test.
