Former Gaiscioch Rift member - General GW2 Gaiscioch questions

Hello All,

I was an active member of the Gaiscioch guild on Faeblight in Rift.  However, I quit Rift about a year ago and have not had much contact with Gaiscioch since then.  I am eagerly looking forward to GW2 (have played in all BWE) and am very happy that there will be a large Gaiscioch base for me to come home to!  I have a few general questions about how the guild will work in GW2.

- Who will be leading the guild in GW2?  Does Fog plan on spending a lot of time in GW2 (as opposed to rift) and, if not, has he appointed a "GW2 Captain" to lead in his name?

- Will Gaiscioch require "Monogomy"?  A lot of guilds currently recruiting for GW2 insist their members do not use the multi-guild joining feature and play exclusively with their own guild.

- There was quite an issue with server selection for BWE3.  Rall is a new server so it might be possible for most to get on to this server at launch/headstart.  However, for those on other servers, will we be able to send / recieve mail to the rest of the guild to earn / spend family vault credits?

- Will it be a requirement to transfer to Rall to continue being a member of the guild or only for those who want to participate in Gaiscioch WvW? (Which I anticipate will be awesome, go Gaiscioch!

-  Will I keep the Credits, honor points, tokens of Valor I earned through Rift and continue advancing from this point or will everything reset at 0 for GW2?

I apologize if these topics have already been discussed but I have been absent for quite some time.  I thought that they were questions past Gaiscioch members now returning for GW2 would have.  Thanks in advance for any replies :

Oh also, I am curious if there has been an initial contribution system worked out for GW2 yet? DE = x participation points, structured PvP match = y, Successful keep siege = Z? I really loved how this was done in Rift.

1.) Fog will be leading us and we will try to split our time evenly as long as there's interest. Us elders can help out as well. 2.)Fog is actually encouraging us to join a few guilds, show people how a Gaiscioch carries themselves. <3 The rest hopefully someone else will step up and answer. :) Welcome home.

1) As Izzy says, Fog will be dividing his leadership time between Rift and GW2 evenly. Since this will likely only be 1-2 nights a week per game, we'll be doing out best to have other leaders out and about as much as we can in between. 2) No monogamy required. It's possible Gaiscioch itself might be made up of a number of different Guilds so as to focus guild bonuses (for example a WvWvW guild with pop bonuses, or a crafting guild with crafting bonuses) - but that's for Fog to confirm. 3) I don't think it's possible to send mail between servers. 4) Unsure. 5) All guild achievements from this site like rank and vault credits transfer between games. They are representative of your commitment to the guild, not one specific game. Hope this helps.

Thanks very much for the info Izzy and Dargron! Having separate guilds for specialized buff utilization is an amazing idea. It will work so well with the GW2 guild system since you can belong to all the guilds and represent each as you are participating in that activity. I have wondered though about guild chat. I think, but am not sure, that you only see the guild chat of the guild you are currently representing. Use of Ventrilo could get around this but I have always been more of a typer myself.

- Foghladha is leading both, from what I understood; - I do not believe Gaiscioch will require monogamy. In fact, I think I've seen either Foghladha or someone else encourage people to join other guilds in more specialized areas like PvP; - Sanctum of Rall wasn't the most popular server during the BWE3. Foghladha wants to get everyone on that server and then start promoting it. I don't know about mail, but the GW2 auction house and trade are cross-server, so it's quite likely that mail also is; - I didn't get the impression that you have to be on the Sanctum of Rall server to be in Gaiscioch. With the guesting, I don't see why you couldn't participate; - yes, you will keep all your Rift stuff, I forgot where that was mentioned, though.

The people I play with, we're usually a separate guild. But we intend to play with Gaiscioch closely. So basically we're going to have two memberships, one with Gaiscioch for general play, and then our smaller guild since we tend to group up for wvw. It'll probably be that way until an alliance system comes into play, Fogladha didn't seem to have a problem with that so I think he'd be alright with other folks doing similarly.

Hopefully Alliances and alliance chat will come along soon. You *can* group with other servers, right? Just not for WvWvW. Welcome "back" Glynt! I think GW2 and Gaiscioch's approach are a very good match. Looking forward to it!

We want to encourage everyone to please roll on Santcum of Rall. From there you can guest to other servers. The Gaiscioch will be lead by myself and the eldership which we have 15 active draios between the 2 games. Membership carries over from all previous games. The marketplace / objective system will be slow getting off the ground as I have limited time and access to data so everything won't be available at launch. The marketplace however will award discovery points for entering unknown recipes. Regardling multiguild, yes we want our community to reach out and make friends in every guild on SoR. We want to unite this server and this will help that cause.

As I've said last time, Fog, if you need help with the website, maybe I could help. You don't need to do it all by yourself.

Iron, we have a lot of people who have been gathering data over the BW but once the game goes live you can just help input recipes you find and help us plug any holes. Just be patient and realize I hold 3 jobs also and this is not what I do for a living :).
