Thank the heavens for the Olympics to help me pass the days until GW2 cranks up! Can time go any slower these next few weeks! Now for how to keep occupied after the 12th of August when they end.

I think this week is going to be the slowest for myself because I don't have much planned at work. Thankfully next week and the week after, work will pick up so time will pass faster. The Olympics do help as well. It's funny how these launch days are the main thing that feels like waiting for Christmas as a kid. Nothing else makes me feel so impatient and excited anymore.
Agreed, Vampiresbane. I hope GW2 will end the waiting streak, though. I'm kinda having fun with Rift, but I probably wouldn't be there if I haven't already bought the game. Otherwise, school is getting closer, and I am beginning to get bugged by my professor and some other people, plus I need to get a few basic things sorted out before the semester starts. Oof, combinatorics, do not want... still wondering if I should take differential equations first, instead.
Differential equations, and the universe is your super model ^_^ I had a moment of truth yesterday in Hosfi's GSB raid. I was on Mulch and a perfect cleric relic dropped. It's been over a year since I first killed LGS and this was the first time I saw it drop. This was an all Gaiscioch group, and I decided not to compete for it, cuz realistically if/when I'm ready to take a break from GW2, it'll probably be after the Rift expansion is out, and someone else will enjoy this most fantastic cleric relic more than I. It marked for me a "letting-go." So, in the meantime, I have a couple of RL projects to finish (am using fiberglass and foam to build an instrument speaker cabinet). And top of the list, time with Avalon, Drakhor, and family.
I couldn't agree with you guys more. I have been anxiously awaiting launch days for many games with great expectations. For RIFT and SWTOR, it was with the hopes that they would truly be something different from WoW and other MMO's. Their release could not come soon enough. GW2 will truly be a "revolutionary" MMO in my opinion and I am looking forward to it more than any previous release. Luckily, work is busy and I'm off to Gen Con next week. When I return it will be 4 short days 'til headstart :)
I've just been playing Team Fortress 2 to pass the time.
GW2 is the first game I've followed before release and I've been watching it for about 15 months now. A much shorter time than many but I am also very, very anxious for it to come out. Playing in the BWE's only made the wait worse, lol. I agree with you, Vampiresbane, about feeling like a kid waiting for Christmas morning. I was just thinking about that last night and how what a wonderful feeling it was to be a kid at Christmas and how great it is to feel that way again about something. I've decided to go to bed, and hopefully to sleep around, 6 p.m. on 8/24 so I can get up at 2 a.m. just before launch at 3 a.m. (I'm on on the East Coast). And that's if I can sleep at all as sleep eludes me on a good night so I can just imagine how it will be on the 24th/25th. OMG, just realized something! GW2 and Christmas are both on the 25th! Coincidence? Hmm... the kid in me isn't so sure! ;) Myk
I've been spending the time working through the games that I got from the steam summer sale, as well as replaying some of my old favorites. I think I might be a bit too excited though, as I'm beating some of the older ones in record time.
Sigh...it's still only the 6th...I need to find a better dealer! My supply has run out!
I teach 1st/2nd grade and I just returned to school today and the kiddos come back next week. With the start of school, if I try not to focus on it too hard I won't have too much difficulty passing the days. I am glad for a midnight release on a Friday cause I will be tired. I don't know how you East coasters can do it. Not sure I will do much more than create characters.
I'm thankful I have classes and essays to help keep me occupied in the lead up, hoping that the birthday fairy buys me GW2 as an early birthday present. If anyone is bored they can have one of my 2 essays I have to finish :D (Both are cultural safety/communication in Nursing) If that fails minecraft is always a great time waster

*Twas 18 days before the release of Guild Wars 2, and all through the guild. *All the people were stirring, contemplating and even thinking of a possible build. *The GW2 character forum signatures were added with care. *With hopes that ArenaNet would soon be there. *The people were all snuggled up close to there monitors reading the release date to make sure they had not misread. *While visions of World verses World danced in there heads. *So many would smile at the thought of level 80 cap. *While others would recall the massive size of Lions Arch city map. *When on google there arose such a viral clatter. *I raced to MMO to see what was the matter. *Away to the forums I flew with a flash. *Opened up twenty links and almost made my computer crash. *What was the excitement surely some one must know. *But alas there I was stuck in loading. Damn Road Runner was loading slow. *Just then what would my wondering eyes would appear? *My son bringing me a nice ice cold beer. *Ah, finally at last my internet began to load quick. *But just then I saw some thing that began to make me sick. *Six long years I had played this game. *Six long years wasted, oh the terrible shame. *But what is this now. There is some thing new? *Oh my excitement, it at last grew. *What could be so special, I thought and wondered. *What would this expansion cost this time eighty?... no I bet a Hundred! *My mind danced at such possibilities, what could it be? *Is that a Panda?... you gotta be kidding me!! *I fell to the ground with oh so much laughter. *My laughter grew and grew it rose to the rafter. *Alas I returned and slumped with the rest. *Defeated but smiling, it was a good jest. *Only 18 more days I said while tossing some dice. *Ah what the heck I'll write a long post, that might be nice.
