Nice find Vamp! We should start posting ideas for what we would like the guild emblem to look like. Really bummed there isn't a Tree of Life symbol, well at least a Celtic one. But I would love to get other folks opinions and maybe we can come to an agreement? Here is a quick one I did:

Unfortunately the reason why I stated this would be good for other guilds is we can't really open up guild emblem making for Gaiscioch. Ben has reserved the sole right of picking it himself in order to avoid creating an emblem fight between members. The reason being is it was a HUGE fubar of hurt feelings and angry words when Ben tried to open up the discussion back when Aion came out. Apparently we lost a fair amount of people never to return again. Who knew folks got so heated about it, but apparently they did. Otherwise, I would be ALL about working together as a guild to make something like our celtic symbol. GW1 had a celtic symbol that was really close to what Gaiscioch has on our website, but I haven't seen it in GW2 yet. One can only hope though!

Yeah it was a brutally painful lesson. The thing about being the head of house is you have to just make the choice and stick to it good or bad. If you leave it up for discussion lines get drawn in the sand and people let emotion get involved. We lost over 50 long time members thanks to Aion and allowing people to decide things as a team. I have yet to see any other than Pulitzer return. That fiasco ripped a good 1/5 of our family out and we have never seen them again. From that day on things like Servers and Logo's and Factions I don't leave up for discussion. There are more important things to devote our attention too honestly. We are family and it doesn't matter where we are or what we wear family is still family as long as were together.

It really is for the best that way. Otherwise you might get to run around Tyria wearing this masterpiece:

Funny thing is... I kinda like that emblem. It has GREAT color contrast. Not that I would wear/display it nor ever, ever want it for Gaiscioch. But you would know the < insert octi/squid guild name here > from max draw distance before you ever saw their guild tag with no problems. :P

Oh I didn't realize the history on the issue. Well honestly symbols aren't why I'm glad to be part of this family :)
