I'm having 1 giga of pretty pictures because they are saved in BMP format (What is this? The 90's?!) and I would love to format them in JPG. I've been using irfan, which is a free program that allows batch conversions, even tried to edit the user settings to JPG but that didn't work out :c

Any suggestions on how to save the pictures in JPG? Saving them to clipboard doesn't work very well for me because I take a TON of pictures and then just keep the ones I like. I spam that print screen key like a boss!

There's an app called format factory which I've used for a long time to convert media files to other formats. It does a great job.

FastStone Image Viewer

Hands down one of the best image viewers you can ever use. Does batch converting for file types. Also has some simple editing features and photo-correction features. It can also view/convert just about any image file type you can find.

Incidentally, when I reformat a hard drive and install the basic suite of applications, FastStone is always included.

Alternatively, you can use Fraps to save screenshots instead of ESO. This is what I do. Fraps can save in JPG or PNG (I prefer PNG).

I believe the Raptr client can also take screenshots from ESO.

Also, you can change the screenshot format by changing/adding the line below to your UserSettings.txt file:

SET ScreenshotFormat "BMP"   or   SET ScreenshotFormat "JPG"

Keep in mind, the JPG algorithm they use is extremely lossy.
