The Telara Saga - Season 3 - Thursdays @ 6PM PT Starting Feb 2nd
For years Telara has enjoyed a time for peace between the Guardians and Defiants. Their assault on the planar dimensions has lead them to the doorstep of a new frontier. In Season 3 of the Telara Saga the mighty warriors of Gaiscioch will call on their friends and allies to assault the planar dimensions. This 10-Week Public Community Event (PCE) is set to launch on Thursday, February 2nd 2017 at 6PM PT. The tentative schedule is as follows.
The plan is to incorporate Instant Adventures, Onslaughts, World Bosses, Zone Invasions, Nightmare RIFTs, Raid Rifts, and Hunt Rifts in the first 5 weeks of the event. In the second 5 I plan to focus largely on the Starfall Prophecies content.
Target Audience:
As with most of our PCEs we plan for 100+ people and adjust accordingly. With the past Telara Saga we had as high as 800 people participating in a single event. I doubt this will be the case this time but we want to be prepared if it does happen. We will need 1 Squad Leader per 20 people. Which means we need to have 10 people who can both lead a squad and have the lures required for the day's event. We will be heavily relying on our own people to have group summons available to transport people from place to place. Each group will need to have a few Gaiscioch members in them. I doubt we will need 10 raids but you never know. Strange things have happened in the past. I'll never forget having to coordinate 14 raid groups for the Season 1 finale. Pure madness.
Goals:
- Introduce players to various RIFT Content they may have missed.
- Introduce Gaiscioch to the community
- Provide 2-Hours of Entertainment to those who join or watch.
- Create a social platform for epic memories and friendships to be made.
Prizes
This is going to be the hard part. We're starting from square 1 and are going to need to create and store a whole slew of prizes for this event. I'm thinking of 24+ Slot Bags, Purple Gear, Collectable Pets & Guild Crafting Tools. I will be adding some items on the donation list for this and use the Gaiscioch na Anu banks to store the prizes. Yes we still have that one ;). This is where I plan on leaning on the planning committee for a bit of guidance to figure out what's desirable at high levels. We will have limited space in the vaults and can't store everything. We want to find the items that are highly sought after. If there is something truly epic that will drive people nuts that would be perfect.

Also looking for dimension items that are worth more than 25p and highly desireable. Open to more prize ideas but they need to be versatile. We don't have a lot of storage so class based items will be hard to store. I figure bags are the safest bet. I may try to make some of the new Starsilk bags as well. I'll add those to the list when I get the recipe added.
Preparation Events
I will be running quite a few preparation events late night. We have been trying to unlock each tier of the Great Hunt Rifts so we are able to do those during the event. Most of these will be run late night. We will start running Saturday Morning events in January to help farm materials and items necessary for the event.
Building a Community Events Platform
I am beginning work on a PCE platform that will allow us to launch minisites for each PCE that all have the same tools and features. This way players can register for the Telara Saga and play The Great Tyrian Adventure. I plan to do this using the magazine site registration system. All of these events will tie directly into the Magazine site and allow people to enter raffles and choose their prizes there. Instead of building a whole new database every time we do one of these I plan to make it use the same database and use a PCE tag to declare which PCE it is related to. This should help us in the future rapidly deploy new PCEs. It will also help boost our Magazine subscribers in the process.
