Fruit Soup (A recipe by Robert Mann):
2 apples
1 large or 2 medium oranges
2 mangos
Other fruits as desired
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp lemon pepper
1/4 tsp basil
a dash of nutmeg
Pot with ~6 cups water.
Slice fruit. Apples may have the skin left on. If you have never worked with Mangos before, the skin is bitter and the center hard, make sure you only get nice soft fruit flesh! Slice out most of the fiber of the orange, you want the pulpy chunks and juices. Put the pot on to boil. At a light boil, add the apple. ~5 minutes later add the Mango, and ~2-4 minutes later the orange. This gives the harder fruit longer to boil, giving you a blend that isn't too hard but also is not mush. After the orange, stir and simmer for a minute. Then add all the seasonings. Stir and simmer for another couple minutes, and remove from the heat.
May be served with any grain (rice, noodles, etc.) that you would use for a soup dish. You may use fruit juices for a stronger broth flavor. You may add meats to this if you want... poultry would probably work well.
