Now the holidays are shall we say sort of winding down, I'd like to thank Gaiscioch for accepting my application and introduce myself. I go by Feathers on-line but my real name is John and I'm a disabled veteran now retired. I often find a lot of time on my hands with my current limitations but I never let that slow me down. Well truthfully I can't really say that, sometimes a good nap is really just what the doctor ordered. All kidding aside though I enjoy gaming and as much as I play one might as well say it's more of a hobby now. I also enjoy the outdoors, which is mostly hunting and archery. I no longer archery hunt due to my back but I still shoot competitively in target and 3-D leagues. I think that was done simply because the doctor told me I was done shooting and well I'll let them know when I'm done. Even with a bad back I've been able to step down a few brackets and compete at the national level . This coming year will be my 3rd year at the IBO national and world events and so far I've managed to hit 4th at the World's in 2013 and tied for first place over-all at the 2014 IBO Nationals. I lost on " x " count ( center bull's-eyes ) so for the year I took 2nd over-all at Nationals. Bird Hunting, My Archery, and gaming pretty much fill up this old timers days. Being somewhat Physically challenged myself I have also started helping a local Wheeling Team here and try to help others who are less fortunate in mobility being in wheel chairs. It feels good to be able to help other disabled veterans and those who wouldn't have the opportunities without the help of others. I still have all my appendages so the least I can do is carry some part of the burden they can't.
I think as gamers we all bring something of ourselves into each game we play. I've found the anonymity the internet offers is usually an invitation for many to simply act as they feel like without the regard of any consequences. People must still try to remember that these may be games but that there is a real person at the other end of the key-board. That being said I've always gamed with much smaller groups which tend to be tight knit and where clan / guild members know one another by name. I've listened, read through posts, and have done a few runs with Gaiscioch and I have been impressed with its leadership and more importantly its responses to things I would refer to as drama. The times I have played in W vs W with you all it has always been fun and light hearted win or loose. During the Guild Mission nights the P vs E aspect of things I have always noticed a willingness to help others and even teach them so they can improve. Before this post gets too long winded, thanks again for consideration into the ranks and I look forward to helping and gaming with you all soon.
