Prissy's Guild Tequatal Run - Sunday Sept.29, 6pm server -This is going to be awesome!

Hi Everyone,

Update 9//28/13 Did my first complete event last night and it was awesome. They did use the fire embers but did not see the whistle or hear about any traps. I would like to keep this as simple as possible so if we could stick with the fire embers for this run maybe we can collect the other stuff later.If you already have the whistle and the traps bring them and let me know how they work. My first thought when I complete this was this was made for the family and we can do this!!!! If you do not have any of the extra stuff come anyways do not let that stop you. 

I am working on the Tequatal Run for Sunday and here is the information that I have found out and what we are going to need to accomplish the event. We will be forming up at least an hr (430 pm to 5pm server)  before the event so we can get into an overflow big enough for everyone. Keep an eye on this post for time changes. I am not going to do the whole fight here just what we need to do to get started.

Be nice to see 80 people there.

1. Lots of guildies to show up an hour early so we can find an empty instance for all of us. 

2. Patience for those of us who have never done this event. PMA = Positive Mental Attitude is a must.

3. Bring your  listening ears!

4. Will need 3 Commanders - no icon needed but who know the fights at the North and South Turrets, Jessica has volunteered for the South turret, I will be on the foot of Tequatal so need North turret commander. Will need 10 people for each turret group

Updated: 9/28/13 Would like the turret drivers to be experienced if possible.

5. Need group for the laser to keep it clear - 20 to 30 to keep laser clear 

6. Guardians please have the following equipped:

**save yourself

**Wall of Deflection

**Stand your Ground

7. Warriors - War Banners - Strength + one other except Disciple - since you can not crit him

8. Eles have ice bow or firie great sword 

9. Food - Powerful Potions of the Undead Slaying or Orrian Steak Fattas

10 Fire Elemental Powder - will be doing the event for this Saturaday after the GUild Mission Run.

Anything else anyone can think of post here.

Also, eles want to bring both ice bow and fiery greatsword.

Besides the ember fire powder, the consumable mortars from fireheart are supposed to be good around turrets.

Go early and learn where the jump pads take you so you can use them to move quickly around fight as needed.

Also, the usual if you're completely down, waypoint and run back is very important in this fight.

If someone wants to practice before hand, there is a raid call channel for the event that is usually very well organized-- 6131999.

Spartan has led a few events there, as well as many other commanders from various guilds.

Pet whistles from the vendor over by gladefall waypoint in iron marches will summon another pet as well if you use embers first and then the whistle.

One thing I would like is if the people doing turret defense would please make an attempt to get Deployable Mortar Kits  before hand as they can help greatly in damaging enemies.

Most if not all of these things on the list can be useful in any pve fight (except dungeons and WvW) so take a look:) I am looking forward to the fight on Sunday and hope a lot of Gaiscioch show up so we can kill this rabid dragon as a family!

Cool, I'll be there on my guardian with those abilities ready (pretty much what I run with anyway!)

This is going to be awesome!  I'll bring my guardian too.

I'll be there on my guardian and would be willing to sit on a turret. Most of my runs/wins I've been on a turret so I'd be willing to do that for the family ^^  Then again if you nee help anywhere else I'm more than willing to move as needed.

Something that's good to be aware of before arriving is that you cannot crit tequatl. So if you're planning to be in the group which focuses on dps to teq then using berserker's gear won't do you much good and you'll be spending a lot of time waypointing and running back due to your lower health pool. 

Power is a good stat to have if you're focusing teq, but have as much surviveability as you can. As an ele who fights in the dps group I use PVT (soldier's) gear for this fight. I realize that for those who don't already have this gear that getting a new set of armor may not be feasible for a single event but those who do have it should use it.

Just want to shout out kudos to Prissy for organizing and leading the Teq run and to Jess for running south defense. Even though we didn't win we got him to 75% on our first run and I'm sure had that battery not failed we would have beat him :)

Props to everyone that came out to fight. I don't know about you all but I had a good time! Hope to do it again with you all next week! Don't get discouraged! As Prissy said in RC, it was our first guild fight against Teq. It will only get better from here and I have no doubt we'll have Teq loot in no time!

I thought it went pretty smooth and a world boss shouldn't be easy anyways...wasn't that the issue to begin with? 

I did Fraps our attempt and will convert and post it soon - maybe it will be of some use.  I was up front with Prissy so no idea what the North/South camps were up to.

I'll research it tonight and see what I can put together as a guide.  While there are lots of people who have time during the day to read and read and discuss, we also have many casual players (including myself) who go into these kind of things blind and could benefit immensely from a summary video.

Boo, I missed it. Wasn't feeling very well and went bed early and I forgot about this event.

Maybe next time I'll be there :3
