Tequtal Guild Run - Many thanks and whats the next step

First let me say how proud I was of each and everyone who showed up for this event. You all did an awesome job!!! Hats off to Jessica and Soren who stepped up to lead the North and South turrets. Thanks!!! Thanks to everyone for their patience and helpful information.

Second like most guild events this is a training event - lots of people who attended last nights event have never seen the dragon fight.

Third - we got him to 75% and saw the next stage. The 75 mark is the hardest to get to. Now that we know how that works we will do better next time.

Fourth - Next time? Heck yeah there will be a next time and a next time until we defeat this mighty foe as a guild. I will not stop until then. This event is made for us.

Fifth - So here is the next step on Friday night (10/4) at 6pm server we will be forming up in Sparkfly Fen and walking through the fight from beginning to end. We will play with the turrets, jumping pads and see where all the batteries are. We will answer any questions and listen to any suggestions. Saturday we can work on getting ele powder, pet whistle and troll repellent.

Sixth - I probably should not say this but I was very proud of the way you stood up to the troll and supported the guild and Me as the leader, but next time please do not feed the troll. (me included - will take my anti-troll potion before event)

Sorry about the bad case of  nerves before the event - will be better next time.

I had lots of fun and huge props to you Prissy for organizing and leading the event. You did an awesome job. Same to everyone who came on out. You guys were awesome.

Looking forward to running with everyone again on Sunday and hopefully feast on some dragonkabobs :)

Had fun. From my observation it seems we need to work on practicing with the turrets. The scales getting too high and cleansing the area where the zerg is. We also got that champion grub which is one of the worst things that can randomly happen. Those really need extra people to scramble and take it out quickly.

For having quite a few people doing this for the 1st time it was better than most servers were doing the first day.

I very much enjoyed it.  Was wondering when GSCH was going to do a guild event for this guy - even thought I had maybe missed it.  Glad I was wrong. :)

Something I noticed in the initial strategy that perhaps could be changed?

We were told when we were on the dragon to stay very closely clumped up.  I'm not sure that's really a good idea since it's far easier for the clouds to kill many people at once and poison to affect those same people.

Also, buffs, and even the turrents only affect 5 people at a time to my knowledge so when a person fires the turrent into the group it's only affected a small few.

I'd suggest spreading out and just paying attention to the waves and cloud circles on the ground.

I don't proclaim I know all the mechanics of the game so if I'm wrong, just say so.  But from doing the encounter a few times, that seems to be the best way to attack the dragon as far as spacing.

I was at this event, and had a blast! It was fun to see some people who were new to the fight coming out and learning, while also performing well and getting to the 75% mark. My first attempt was nowhere close to 75%, so for us to be able to get that is awesome. Prissy and all of the other people who stepped up to help did an excellent job, like always. I feel like I don't even need to say that anymore, the events from this family are always led by great leaders. Even though the fight ended with the event failing, we succeeded to have a good time like always. We succeeded to teach and grow as a family. I look forward to the next one, and that pesky little dragon falling to our swords and spells. Fight on :D

Here is what i observed:

The tight stack was great! it kept the buffs going and made Warrior banners very effective as well as cleanses. On that note however I was noticing Warrior banners in the middle of the zerg. These need to be placed just to the side of it so we can effectively rally the downed instead of picking them up. This is also useful when trying to pick up FG and ice bows.

Since we are in a zerg we should be able to quickly raise the downed players. With that said I saw a large number of actually dead people. I get it was many's first time and they may not have known where to re spawn at because i don't think we clearly gave the WP but thats an easy fix. We just need everyone re spawning as fast as possible when they die.

Another great thing is if people can afford the extra set of gear to try and get some PVT gear due to it being the best for this particular fight.

Also a reminder to the turrets that they need to be aiming at Taco's head to effectively remove scales. I know the targeting can get jumbled up during that fight on the turrets so keeping that in mind will help reduce his scales and prevent bone walls.

I don't know if they were doing it or not either but north turrets are basically only cleansing their selves and descaling the big beasty while south is cleansing the zerg, themselves and when they get a chance buffing the zerg. Like i said i don't know if that's how it went down or not but that's the most effective way to down him.

Like you said though prissy it was a great first attempt for many guild members who had never seen him up close and personal before. 25% if a major feat considering most groups couldn't even get close to that when the content first came out (and they did it for the first time). It was a great training exercise and i know everyone will do great next time.  GSCH will have his head on a pike and Hopefully awesome loot to fill the coffers as our reward!
