Thanks for all the well wishes! Hubby is doing well, after a surgery that took twice as long as expected due to unanticipated issues discovered when they started. He didn't sleep well last night (hospitals don't seem to be good for that) but he's fairly chipper. Today, we walk the halls :)

Sorry for the silence. Iak has been in ICU since early Thursday morning. It was a fight for his life for the first couple of days but he is on the upswing now. He opened his eyes and responded to basic commands yesterday which was the best Christmas present ever. We hope ventilator comes out on Monday and then to get him into a regular room on Tuesday.

Iak is still in ICU, still on ventilator, but today is better. He is more alert, responding to simple commands and "told a joke" (with head nods and shakes and a little smile), which tells me he's getting better. Maybe ventilator will come out soon and we can get into a regular room, and even contemplate coming home sometime.

Me again. Jason's officially been in ICU a week but we are hopefully nearing the day when he will get out and move to a regular room. Thanks for your support!

Lilou ~ was good to talk to you last night - hope hubby continues to improve and gets to come home soon!
Praying the improvement has been continuing. My husband just had surgery on the 23rd, but luckily he was able to leave around dinner time on the 24th to continue resting at home. I know what it's like to be stuck in a hospital for even an overnight and all the stuff they put you through. I don't think my husband slept well as they kept checking stuff. Here's to 2017 being a great year with both our hubby's fixed up. ;)
We hope to get him out of ICU today! Can't wait until he actually comes home.
Bri, Jason hasn't slept well since they got him out from under the sedatives he was on. It's ironic that hospitals are not good places to rest!
