Hey Gaiscioch people! Have you ever wanted to learn to play the 5th edition of Dungeons and Dragons? Do you know how to play already and would like to play with fellow Gaiscioch members? Then come on down!

Now that the pitch is over with, here's the information. I have a group in an "open social adventure" for D&D going, comprised of me (the DM), LordMelchom, Ralcore, Wicko, and Radiologikal. I would like to get 1-2 more people to join in, for those unforeseen circumstances that someone can't make it that day, doesn't show up, or can't play anymore, that we still have at least 4 people at that particular session so we can continue. You wouldn't be "back-up" players who would be called on when someone didn't make it. You would be "full time" players.

The party is made up of a dark elf warlock (LordMelchom), a human cleric (Ralcore), a high elf wizard (Wicko), and not entirely sure what Radio is playing. If interested, just post a reply here! It meets on Saturday nights at 4pm Pacific (Gaiscioch) time, and runs up to 4 or so hours. It will be a weekly game. Any option in the Player's Handbook is available (includes what is in the Basic Rules and the SRD, both of which are linked on the roll20 page). Yes, it will be played over roll20.net and using Discord for voice communication. Don't feel like speaking? You can use text, just still need to be in discord to hear the others.

I'm interested. I've had fun with your tabletop groups before and would like to do it again. And it's one of the ways I get to bust on Radio. MUWHAHAHHAHA

PM me the info of how to hook up so I can check out what to make. Of course, it will help if I know what Radio is so I can put something in the mix that helps - or maybe it will be added chaos. You know me!  ;) Of course, if Radio is not a fighter type I could have some fun with that even if it never was my norm to play that. *Grins evilly* I could have fun with that change.

I've loved table-top RP since 1980 and love how Roll20 allows groups to do it via the internet.

Don't mess with Mama Bear, I might hug you too tight. =D

I started playing basic D&D, then Advanced and moved on from there.  I've played GURPS and many other game systems and have had a lot of fun for more years than I'm willing to admit in a public forum.  :-)  Then we moved down to Corpus Christi and I've not been tabletopping since.  I really miss it.

I do not have any books, although I seem to recall seeing dice around here somewhere.  Is there something online that could help me? I did see they fixed rangers, recently, fyi.  http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/features/unearthed-arcana-ranger-revised

So, having been away, I'm open to playing anything, if you still have a spot open.  I'm happy to let others pick their roles and fill in as needed.

Heck ya Iakona.

I will PM you the link to join the game on roll20. You'll need a roll20 account, and I have links to the free basic stuff on the roll20 page.

It's a lot of fun Iakona - I've done tabletop virtually with roll20 on and off since 2012 - pretty much with Gaiscioch and friends they may have brought along to the fun. I've done this with Oreo as DM and played with Radio several times this way, as well. I'm sure we will have a lot of wacky fun.

And I only dabbled last year in this rule set, but it isn't that hard and kind of reminds me of some of the older systems compiled together in a simpler form. I will admit I started RPG with D&D in 1980 and from there I've done several table top games, MUDs, live action and MMORPG craziness for my gaming fixes.

Thank you, Briseadh.  Especially thank you for admitting when you started.  I started to type that out but stopped.  Since you admitted yours, I'll admit mine.  I started in '78 when a neighborhood friend had this box of stuff.  It didn't take long to chafe at only leveling to 3 and we started a collection that lasted for decades.  I RPed from '78 to (gulp) 2010 and have been away from it for 6 years.  OMG, that's over 3 decades.  I need to get my walker and go sit down, now.

No worries on that, Iakona. I could make you two feel old and say you guys started before I was even born ('81), but I won't do that. :p

I started in 1996 with 1e AD&D (1 adventure), bought my own 2e AD&D books in 1998. 2 years later WotC released 3rd edition. I played 3rd edition off and on from 2000 through 2007, and from 2007 through 2012, I didn't get to do anything. Nash started up Pathfinder game in 2012, and I have made attempts since then. Been working on my own world since 2003 (will be 13 years to the day in 9 days). I think I finally got a world map "set in stone" after 13 years (technically after 20 years, as I have been thinking up stories for this world since 9th grade high school).

I hope to some day start up a game set in that world (I attempted once before, but that went kaput after 2 sessions, where we switched to Kingmaker adventure path). I think I may have an idea for an adventure for it (set in the world's past, and having the players go through a major event of the world). I just need to finish up that world map.

And I actually enjoy played with the "old timers". I have found my playstyle meshes more with them. I don't have a problem with playing with the younger ones, either.

So, that means: 2 people who have played 5th edition before, and 4 people who haven't yet. And 3 "veterans" who have played D&D previously, 2 that tried 3rd edition a couple times, and (I believe) 1 person who has never done this kind of game before. And then there's me, who badly attempts to DM. :)
